More Shenanigans at KJLL

...precisely how long can a radio station operate without a Chief Engineer and not get nailed by the Federal Communications Corruption?...

They probably haven't had a phone call yet to give them a clue about the chaos...

Well, forever. A chief operator needs to be designated, and that can be a savvy management person. There are contract engineers available for day to day maintenance stuff.

THe FCC does not require a chief engineer, only a chief Operator, who can be anyone the licensee trusts. Going with a contract engineer for day to day maintenance is ofter really just cheaping out and only calling an engineer to handle emergencies. That's like bailing the boat with a small can without fixing the leak.

Well now, I've been away for a few weeks and something big is happening at the JOLT! By reading the comments here, and my personal feelings being added to the mix, I think whatever they do with the JOLT 1330 can only be an improvement. I hope whatever problems face them, they get recified. I am sorry for the people who lost their jobs, there has been too much of that going on in Tucson radio since the CC bloodbath of January 2009.and for matter around the industry.Never fails,Tucson radio is STILL in a rut, wish the big companies would sell...oh way, I know, it's a pipe dream.

The urinating contest going on in the online comments of the Schuster's article is quite amusing.
...much more amusing, in fact, than anything Schuster himself has ever written or broadcast ;D ...
