More Syndication for KMJQ

The ABSOLUTE WORST Urban AC station I have ever heard, Majic 102.1 (and I add the .1 now, because the old "Majic 102" does not deserve to have its reputation smudged by this ugly version of it), has bumped more local talent in favor of syndication. Comedienne MONIQUE (formerly of THE PARKERS) has a syndicated radio show now, and Majic 102.1 has put her on air from 2pm-6pm. Jeff Harrison, who took over Progamming Duties earlier this year, is now only on for one hour (6p-7p). I wonder if this was a move on his part or Radio One's cheap way of operating? I wouldn't be surprised if Kandi Eastman isn't soon replaced with Michael Baisden's syndicated show, which is on many Urban AC stations in the midday slot, very soon to cut costs and localism even more.

This station needs competition DESPERATELY! Their music rotation is terrible. Talk about A LOT of commercials... they have to play about 15 minutes of commercials an hour. Every time I turn them on, they are in a stop set. And you rarely see them out and about in the community anymore. A lot of people, including me, like reminisce about great Rock radio of the past, however, Houston used to have some GREAT R&B stations as well... Majic 102, Kiss 98.5, KYOK, Power 97.5, amongst others. They have all fallen by the wayside, and we are stuck with this version of Majic. Very sad.

Thats Radio One ! Radio One stations, are only good in Atlanta,Washington D.C. and Baltimore . Radio One Trash The LA and Boston Radio Market( Thank god Radio One is Out in LA ).

Man I can't stand the Monique show. IMO, she's kinda annoying. I wish Magic left the afternoon spot the way it was.

No, I've never worked in radio in Houston. If Radio One didn't own them, I would love to give it a shot.
