not that i put much into what the dentist says.. I do agree on one thing recently....
most pds today don't know what radio personality driven shows mean to people. especially when stations are run by sales people these days....
if you have a good morning show, it becomes appointment radio. or a good radio afternoon or night show like cousin brucie...and they start to feel like family.
this is what fm radio needs more of to survive. goog show content. you can get the music anywhere. its the content that should be bringing people back.
snd if the average radio audience doesn't understand that, explain it to them...
you can inovlve people for decades with good content. thats what made the old rocky and scott and todd shows so great. they interacted often with the audiences that made you wonder what was going to happen next and you looked forward to the shows each day.
while I still think scott on cbs sounds better than ever, I miss the contests and remotes that made the show famous around the watercooler...like the fiesta hut broadcast...
that kind of radio needs to come back..put on a great show..don't jut be a jukebox
