more ticket cutbacks

So its 12 hours of Rotten Radio on the 4th of July. Holidays were always one of the best times to listen to the HL because of all of the goofing off on a holiday.

It's not really cutbacks...Cumulus realized it was foolish to make them work holidays (Mem & Labor Days) when listenership is at it's lowest and give them a floating holiday to use whenever they wanted. Now, playing Rotten Radio instead of using B-teamers could be said to be a cutback. I, for one, didn't really like them working holidays because I didn't always listen and didn't want to miss any potential Ticket historical radio gold.

This is my opinion also. I for one also don't mind Rotten Radio because it's usually the best of the funny stuff like Fake Juando, etc. Good stuff.
 
I love hearing all the old bits.

Also, several of the hosts are going on vacation next week. I think the Musers will be out as well as Bud of Bud and Dan.

This is the best time of year for the sports jocks to all go on vacation. The Basketball and the Hockey Playoffs are over. It's just a good time of year to take off.

One of the funniest bits I have heard, and there have been many on the Ticket, was a couple of summers ago, Corby related his family's experiences at the theme park in San Antonio (during Cowboy's training camp there). That would be at the top of my favorites list.
 
My TSL to KLUV and The Wells Report will go up next week with Bob and Dan gone and when the Hardline leaves. ;D

With all the potential new talent in the building now Mike Doocey is the best fill in they can find these days?
 
I think Cirque de Sirois is an underrated bit of genius. Their non-sports bits are hilarious and I can tolerate their sports talk. Cirque TV on youtube is pretty funny if you have some time. Kevin Turner is a subtle genius. In fact, the entire Saturday lineup is the best they've had since the late 90s when they had the original Throwdown with Dick Hicks, Followill, and Doogie. The B-teamers are pretty solid and I'd like to see them phased in more while the hosts are in dry dock.

Rich has been on vacation this week which means he'll probably be working with Donnie Doo for some Black and Quack.

I spoke to Mike Sirois and Kevin last night and Mike said KT had just been told hours before that he's filling in for Gordon Friday. Should be interesting.
 
It's like this every summer. The Ticket schedule is kind of chaotic until Cowboys camp starts.

The thing I hate about Rotten Radio is it always plays the same old bits over and over that I've heard 100 times. I do know new ones are being uncovered by the day by the Unticket. The Hardline closed today with one I don't think I've heard: A Frank Parra live spot from the Rant circa 2000 featuring "Irving Cares."

I'd go with the first two Charity Challenges on Ice at the old Stars Center in Valley Ranch. Those were hilarious. I think it was Ch. 39 who broadcast a replay a few weeks later and I have it on VHS somewhere. When it moved to Reunion it just wasn't the same.

Changing gears...I think Cirque de Sirios is developing a subtle genius. Their weekend show is almost becoming required listening when I'm running errands or doing chores around the house. I love having them as a fill-in when the regular hosts are in dry dock.
