Being the radio geek that I am was wondering which stations the following transmitters are:

As you travel 101 North on your right side as you leave Redwood City right after the billboards.

101 North in Morgan Hill to the right off the Cochrane exit.

101 South in San Martin to the right there is a very tall stick on the hill highly visible from the Morgan Hill, Gilroy area.

The towers on Story Rd. in San Jose across from Wal Mart.

and where is KFFG's 97.7 tower located at specifically, can't really tell on radio locator.

Re: KYCY and KLIV...

I know these two:

That's KYCY/1550 -- formerly KSMO, KKHI(AM), KPIX(AM), etc.

Here's an old photo of it on the museum website:

That's KLIV/1590, and here's another old photo of that facility:

This really tall perhaps 800 ft tower in the Gilroy hills is located in Wattsonville, it's Channel 8 TV. At night it used to have white strobes activated.

Speaking of Tower locations. Which tower location provides the best SF radio coverage without the hsss.... or static noise?

Mt. Beacon (North of the Golden Gate Bridge)
Mt. Suturo (The tall tower with 3 sticks)
Mt. San Bruno (about 10 radio towers on that mountain)
Mt. Diablo (Tallest mountain in this region)
Grizzly Peak (Just east of UC Berkeley campus, the tallest peak in Berkeley Moutains)
Mt. Allison (San Jose TV towers)

I whould have to say Mt. San Bruno

Loma Prieta, where 100.3 has lived gives a pretty awesome clean signal...when it was KBAY, they used to say "from Monterey Bay to San Pablo Bay" and it was true...not to slight San Bruno, which is a good site. I am unaware of any stations that broadcast from Mt. Diablo...only boosters up there, no main transmitters to my knowledge.
