Morning Changes at WDVD

Lisa Jesswein of Blaine & Lisa with Allyson is taking a temporary leave of absense from WDVD for a planned hip replacement surgery. Jeanmarie Pavol will be filling in for about the next month or so. It's not known who will take Jeanmarie's place in the overnight slot.

All the best wishes to Ms. Jesswein for a good and speedy recovery!
 
I dont see how WDVD's ratings are so high in an Urban radio market like Detroit, cause WDVD plays no hip-hop and R&B.

How can a Hot AC at 96.3 beat a Rhythemic CHR at 95.5 in a highly populated Urban market like Detroit, Michigan?

I dont like WDVD because they play no hip-hop and R&B mixed with Pop Music like the former 93.1 dRQ did.
 
So because YOU don't like them, no one should? Sure, that makes sense. Use the button on your radio to change the station.

They don't play R&B or Hip Hop because they are filling a void in the market. The city is urban lean, but the metro is not.

Just because SOME people like Hip Hop and R&B, doesn't mean everyone does. Those people can go to WDVD to hear Nickelback and Natasha Bedingfield without having to get through Li'l Wayne and Kanye. That's why they are a HOT AC and not a Top 40. They are also kicking PPM ass. Apparently there ARE people who want to have this station around. Probably the people who don;t have to cringe with their kids in the car when they are listening to it.
