Morning Mess to Return?

MySpace users (i.e. Marco) reported this morning that the Morning Mess will "be back on in Indianapolis in January...same people, new name to the show, and a new station."

At the moment, Marco's MySpace page says "It's unlikely that we will return to Indianapolis".

That ought to keep the rumor mills stoked for a few more days.

Additionally, the "Bring back RadioNow" Petition has over 2500 signatures. http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?radionow
I'm sure that will go a long way ::)

Per a Myspace bulletin from Rayne, Radio Now continues on the HD channel as well as the internet stream... for now.

As for the Morning Mess, who knows... maybe Uncle Russ is up to something after all. :)

Look at the last ratings book comparing WNOU to WKLU - how can he NOT chuck the lost cause for a new format WITH ratings and WITH publicity (given the new shakeup). Of course he'll screw it up by keeping the same underpaid jocks that will try to 'sound kool' to the kiddies. How about bringing Adam Ritz back, HE connects well with the kiddies!

Having them in Indy for the past few years was...well, a few years too many. Let's hope they take their mess elsewhere.

Cumulus is in the process of making a major outdoor buy through Clear Channel Outdoor in the Indy market. Could it be a CHR on the current FM Talk? Word is FM Talk has been an utter disaster for them. Could the Mess wind-up broadcasting from Shadeland Avenue?

Heres to hoping and crossing fingers "Radio Now" i.e. "Radio STD" takes it's club kiddy audience elsewhere.

Look for K-HITS 101.9 to hit the airwaves soon in Indy ;)

Russ has been working with Jeff for quite sometime on a project.

If I were curious I'd tune in 100.9 at about 4:00 pm today.

Just caught the end of the WIBC 4PM news...the headline "RadioNow Survives...Emmis has sold the RadioNow brand"...Must be breaking news...WIBC.com has nothing on it at 4:12PM.

All of the jocks were released of their noncompetes so hopfully they will be hired on to keep what really kept Radio Now running

Ah, yes. Idiocy. That's what kept it running.

Look for R1 to lowball them on salary. Few will return.

Since the new RadioNow (subliminal// RadioNow ... Now! on 100.9 //subliminal) which is now on 100.9 FM, is actually running spots with PD/nights Rayne asking listeners to go to MySpace and "vote" The Morning Mess back onto the air, my money says Radio One either has already signed (at least some of) the crew, and this is just a promo gimmick to capitalize as much as possible from the press coverage that the 93.1 > 100.9 change has already received.

FWIW - I also find it interesting that RadioNow 100.9 has some spots telling listeners that the station is "commercial free - just like your iPod!" - one wonders how long this will last.
