Morning news on KFXA

I saw on Medialine today that KFXA is advertising for people to make a morning news show? Anyone know anything on this, and will it be shown on KDSM too? Sounds very interesting to me, with cost-cutting Sinclair being the owner, and no morning news on KGAN.

This sounds very interesting, KFXA though is NOT owned by Sinclair. They are owned by Second Generation of Iowa (unless some secret dealings are going on that nobody knows about) KFXA runs KGAN for Sinclair in lieu of getting a newscast produced by KGAN although from when I've seen it (which isn't often) it isn't very good.
Maybe a morning program say from 7-9am in the market would do well. Any of the new people you would bet would also work at KGAN too.

If you dig deeper, the plot thickens, as you will find Mr. Blum has his hands in a lot of cookie jars around here. Owning KFXA, running CBS2 (KGAN), and being the Reg. VP over the Cumulus stations in E. Iowa. Convenience, or conflict? You decide.

How does morning tv do in CR? Though interesting, it sounds like a tough undertaking for a seemingly broken machine over there.

Not saying I know anything, but

is it possible that Second Generation is preparing for Sinclair to shut down its CR newsroom? The rumors have been out there for a long time. One of these days they may come true.

Morning news is a tough nut to crack if you don't have a competitive network morning show like Today or GMA. KGAN has tried for years to establish its morning newscast, but nothing has worked.

Sorry, my bad..I just assumed they were owned by Sinclair since KGAN does their newscast. But still, a pretty bold venture to start up a new show without the help of a network morning show.

You've gotta wonder how they can keep KGAN going. Horrible public image right now with all their firings over the past couple of years, ratings in the crapper. Sad to see how this station has sunk down to this from what it was...Sinclair is truly evil.

The plot thickens??? LOL...what are you going to say next - Larry assasinated Kennedy? LOL. C'mon...I would say it sounds like a good businessman. From your tone I would say you're squeezing some pretty sour grapes.

I was just having fun with the opening - glad you got a kick out of it. :) The rest was meant to point out an interesting fact about the ties that bind these fairly big media entities in CR. No sour grapes...but being a good businessman does go deeper than just the pockets - in my opinion. And there was no intentional tone. Maybe you just read it wrong.
