Morning radio numbers

I've been away from this radio market for almost a decade, but ended up in Wilkes Barre for a few days this past week. Who are the market leaders in the 18-34 and 25-54 demos in morning drive with women? I know that posting actual numbers is against the rules, but can you post a ranking order?

I'm very curious to see the results as I was shocked that Rocky and Sue were still doing mornings on 98.5. I had no idea that Daniels and Webster had split up. Kidd Kraddick on 97.1 is the most polished show in the market. That's a real shame. I want local to be better, but in my quick perusing of the dial, it sounds like all of the heart and soul has been sucked out of what used to be some really great radio stations to listen to in the morning.

I know that Frankie on Magic 93 has respectable numbers, as well as Rocky and Sue on KRZ. However, more and more stations in our area are placing syndicated shows as morning shows, such as 97 BHT and 97.9 X. Let's hope for more local programming.

That's surprising. Not Frankie. He sounds the same today as he did a decade ago. Rocky and Sue? Call me jaded, but the show seems stale. They still pull numbers? Ahh, the beauty of the diary.

Frankie hasn't changed in 10 years but Rocky and Sue sound stale? Sounds to me like OldRadioGuy has an Entercom issue not a discerning ear. Even the original post sounds suspect. "I've been away but..."? Please.

No issue with Entercom. I spent three years living in Mountain Top while taking care of my aging mother. When she passed, I moved. Sadly, I was in NEPA for another funeral and took in the radio scene while in town. Let me clarify my statement because I was being a little too PC.

Frankie is Frankie. It's no surprise that he sounds the same. Consistency works in the AC world and Frankie has been incredibly consistent.

Rocky and Sue? If I'm being blunt, stale isn't the word I would use. Sue sounds out of place on the show. Rocky sounds good. There is a girl named Lisa who is ok. It just feels like a situation where they added somebody young to the mix to freshen things up because they can't move Sue to a more appropriate format for her "experience" level.

Truth be told, anyone who has lived in NEPA knows that the market is unique. What sounds old and crunchy outside of NEPA might be warm, cozy, and familiar in NEPA.

Again, I have no gripe with Entercom or Rocky and Sue. Sue just sounds old. Sadly, I sound old. It happens when you get old! I thought I sounded cool on the air till about 40. Now, as I approach 60, the rare jock shifts I do remind me of my mortality.

Am I jealous that they are still doing mornings on a top 40? Maybe I am. Who knows? I'm going to shut up and wait a few years for my senior citizen's discounts to start kicking in.
