Bandy and Bailey got canned after their morning show today. They're goners.

And that they

will be temporarily replaced by Bill Celler. Or so the grapevine told the word on the street who passed it along to the watercooler.

I just spoke with GM Victor Sansone. It's true. They were not re-signed. The morning show was not doing as well as the rest of the station. That was pretty much it. I don't think Victor disliked them. They are perfectly nice guys. It was ultimately just a question of performance. What's interesting is the station overall is doing very well.

Not That i care but why didnt they let them do a "Save Our Show" Campaign?

Kicks has one of the best personalities anywhere, Sandy Weaver, but no full-time spot to put her in. No, I'm not suggesting she should do mornings, but it would be nice if they could find some place for her. On a Washington radio message board, she recently expressed interest in working for Kicks full-time.

That's not the impression I had, but if Victor said that, I'm sure it's true. I'd like to add, though, that Bandy & Bailey were simply not of major market caliber. I'm sure they were great for Lexington, KY.

Credit to Victor, for doing what needed to be done. It'll be interesting to see who their replacements will be.

"Kicks has one of the best personalities anywhere, Sandy Weaver..."

Well, let me suggest it, then. Sandy is a great talent and a very nice lady. She would be fine in other dayparts, but could certainly be a part of a morning team as well.

Re: He keeps on truckin!

Meanwhile, over at Eagle 106.7, Rhubarb Jones just keeps on going...and going...and going...and going.................How many Kicks morning shows/teams has he outlasted? I think it's around 8.

And the new host is...Craig Cornett, late of County KSD "The Bull" in St. Louis. Craig is a very funny guy, and puts on an excellent show. St. Louis' loss is Atlanta's gain.

While ATL may be a top ten market 95 percent of the local talent aren't and can't shine the shoes of the people that used to be here. I recently moved to the area and was really looking forward to great radio. I remember the talent that usd to be here. But sadly, the list of real major market local talent here is very short after Mike Kavenaugh, Scott Slade and Rhubarb Jones. Where are the John Moores, Gary McKees, Ross and Wilson, Chase and Woodside, and Bobby Harper of this decade. When there are afternoon anchors on a news station here that can't pronounce Cozumel this is far from a major market.

> Please, dear Mr. Sansone....get rid of Jill Kelly also, and replace her with Sandy Weaver as news chick. Super nice woman, very smart, she'd be a tremendous upgrade to this morning show. And another holiday wish, Victor....keep Jim Vann. With a wit like his, he makes every morning host look and sound better. Plus, there are a lot of bars that rely on Jim's income.
