Morning Show Demo format

So I've done the regular shift demo when looking for jobs (3 mins, best stuff up front, etc.) but how does a MORNING SHOW DEMO sound? Should it sound?
I've been doing morning radio for 6 years now and need to get a demo together.
Any tips would be great.
Thanks

Don't agonize over it too much. Every morning show is different, and every PD is looking for "something different." Though I've never myself done a morning show demo (I would end up in AM Drive usually by "default"..I hated it..I'm NOT a "morning person" at all!) but I would say include some straight info type breaks (promo reads,/time/temp/weather breaks, live commercial reads) and a few of your best quick bits, maybe an intro or two into music. It shows you're diverse. Keep it simple, make it fun! (KISMIF!) I would always offer to send a FULL, unscoped show, if the PD so chooses. Find the one that'll "wow" 'em.

Years ago, there was a "formula" for demos--there doesn't seem to be that anymore. Make sure you get opinions of others on your demo, tweak it, then send it out. "Best Stuff Up Front" is a good practice though. Experiment and get others' opinions!

Good luck in your future job search!
