MORNING SHOW GUEST HOSTS: Couric vs. Palin

This week on GMA, Katie Couric is filling in for Robin Roberts.
This week on Today, former Gov. Sarah Palin is filling in for Ann Curry.

ABC promoted their stunt with a spot where Katie and George Stephanopoulous are sitting on the GMA set, and she calls George "Matt".

I don't know how, or if, NBC promoted former Gov. Palin's appearances because I haven't watched NBC since the Super Bowl :)

Both of these seem like ratings ploys. NBC's a little more because Katie Couric is already on the ABC payroll, they didn't need a booking agent to secure her...

I think that Katie hosting GMA is a perfect deal for her since we all know that she can't hold a nightly news show together (CBS anyone?) and entertainment type stuff is her tour-de-force so to speak. And if her talk show doesn't make it, then ABC has plenty to give and give her the GMA gig or if Barbara Walters decides to retires from The View, give that job to Katie too. In fact, come to think of it, "This Week With Katie Couric" wouldn't be bad either.

Wow Sarah Palin I thought she's on Fox payroll.

Would't Palin Bash MSNBC or NBC in General for not conforming to her Political orientation? I find this to be a strange move for NBC to do now that NBC Radio via Dial Global has just gained more stations due to the loss of CNN radio brand.

On NBC's Facebook page, I haven't really seen any major positive responses to their question, "Are you excited for Sarah Palin's big show?" Looks like NBC could have a ratings crash tomorrow, very curious about their numbers and how it goes.

Couric is about as deep as a bird bath

Perhaps, but I'm sure Couric has actually read something other than a catalog to order one.

The most surprising thing about these guest stints is that they're not taking place during a sweeps month. These are the kind of things that sweeps months are made of!

I suppose she's an "independent contractor" for NBC. ::)
