Morning Show in Pm Drive

I see that KROQ in L.A. is adding Kevin and Bean to pm drive with them taping an hour for PM drive after their morning show is off the air. Do you think we might see this happen in phoenix as well? I wonder if any stations would try to cut costs further and put their morning team to more work. I could maybe see Beth and Bill doing an hour in pm drive on KEZ.

It's long been rumored B&B are voicetracked before 6 and after 9, so what's
another hour? I don't listen to them, so I couldn't give you a "read" on
whether those two periods are live or Audio Vault.

I'd also like to know how they run their radio show during all their extended
gabfests on channel 10. Does their producer just segue songs 'n' spots?

BTW, the KESZ afternoon jock will also be voicetracking PM drive for CC's
AC station (WLIT?) in Chicago. How about that...PMD VT in market #3. ::)

I'd love to tell you that this is a surprise, but given the evolution of the (terrestrial) radio biz, it isn't the least bit shocking at all.

I propose that Sandusky just have Morning sickness run all day, from 6a-11p, then loveline from 11p-1a, then the best of loveline from 1a-6a. It's amazing what an hour of time in a studio voicetracking can make a station sound like.

By the way, if you believe the previous statement is just a smartass remark, beware; the radio business is collapsing faster than the Dow Jones and they have only themselves to blame.

And Sirius-XM is not far behind, with all of the changes, consolidations, and cancellations that they made yesterday/last night.

XM........ R.I.P.!

I hope they didn't axe Flight 26...that is what I listen to at the gym when I work out. Well, either that or Lucy. I will be bummed if these stations are gone from XM when I get to the gym. :'(

Solution: change your calls to KAIG and get a government bailout! ;D

Then, throw a huge station promotion/party extravaganza for the staff and listeners! I heard through the grapevine that the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak is good for those. ;D

I'm not from Phoenix, but I do know that Clear Channel owned KDWB here in the Twin Cities had the morning show host Dave Ryan and his crew do both the morning show (6-9am) and the afternoon show (3-6pm) but that was Dave's chioce and only lasted a month, because his morning show got expanded.

I'm sad to say that your going to be very disappointed. Flight 26 is now The Pulse and Lucy is now Lithium.

There is a bit of a Phoenix connection...Dave Ryan hosted mornings on Rhythmic CHR Power 92 in the early 90's.

Darn! Good thing I had my iPhone with me. :) I'm listening to KFI on my iPhone right now. I love technology...just sad to see it kill radio. :'(
