Morning Show out at 96.5

> Bye-bye Wild Bunch.

Their stuff is still up on the site.

No it's not. The Big Mama & The Wild Bunch stuff is gone.

Also on All Access, a little teaser about former Y100 jock Matthew Reid making a return to Philly. Did he audition at Q102 or is Wired going Alternative?
That wouldnt make sense since Beasley just hired a new PD. Then again...Big Mama is relatively new, as well.

Discuss.

I think in 6 months we may hear Chio on 96.5! Am I insane or is this a possibility since Chio is back in town and not in touch with Q102? Seems like a natural fit.

They must of just took it down right after i checked it out.

Chio would come back to save his marriage and spend his first days here screwing his old bosses? Doesn't seem plausible...especially since Q102 has already taken him back once.

And why would he go to work for Beasley's unproven station instead of trying to get back in with behemoth Clear Channel's station (where he already knows what all the buttons do)? Oh! And one other thing: Why wouldn't Wired keep their morning show for now and fire them right before Chio's debut?

On the other hand, if Beasley is planning to mainstream the music in a hard-core way, Chio in the morning might be a good compliment to that. Even if that's the case, it still wouldn't make sense for them to fire their existing morning show six months in advance!

Doesn't quite add up. Fun speculation though.

Matthew "L.A." Reid has been a CHR jock for years. I wouldn't guess a format flip is in order just because he's in town.

A very good "inside-source" claims that Q's morning show did horrible in the perceptual study they ran last summer (with Chio taking the brunt of the heat.) His days were numbered, he was just avoiding the pink slip by taking the San Diego gig.

He won't be invited back to Q this time around, and the Wired speculation is plausible indeed.

Am I the only one glad about this?

I hope we get some morning jocks that are more "high road" than the Wild Bunch. Or at least more music in the morning.<P ID="signature">______________

If he's not well-received by audiences, why would Wired want him? Unfortunately, I can understand the perceptual study results. I never found him very intriguing. In fact, he annoyed the hell out of me. That's just my opinion though. I'm sure someone out there loves him.

He's selling cars for the Cherry Hill Triplex. Seriously. Not a joke. If your in the area, check out the commecials on TV every other minute.

Regarding <strike>Marky Mark & The Funky Bunch</strike> Big Momma & The Wild Bunch, its about time. The first time I heard them a few months back, they were playing "I Spy" in the parking lot of the radio station..."I spy with my little eye...something blue". "Uhh, your car? no? umm...the bus stop?...uhhh". The worst hour of radio i've ever heard. And I've done high school radio a dozen years ago, i've heard bad, but nothing like this.
