Morning Show Producers

Who do you think is the best morning show producer in Atlanta? My vote goes to WSB's Ted Clark, Scott Slade's right-hand man on Atlanta's Morning News.

I don't agree. I'd go with Tracy from the Bert Show. Producing news isn't easy, but you're pretty much doing the same task day in and day out. Producing a multi-faceted morning show with different personalities, different types of segments, promotions, guests, a barrage of daily audio clips, show prep, etc. is waaaay more complicated. Plus, she has to deal with listeners, complaints, sales issues, blah blah blah, which I'm guessing a news producer doesn't.

I will have to go with Not 4th Regullar Guy Tim Andrews. He brings something to the table with his comedy. Tracy is the perfect example of why we should never hear producers on the air. That shrill voice with her holier than thou morals. I wonder what she thinks of Jenn Hobby's recent exploits.

Tim writes and performs comedy. That is talent. I would like to see Tracy try to do a Michael McDonald impression.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Andrews is a true talent!

There's absolutely no doubt Andrews is the funniest producer, but that wasn't the question. The question raised was "Who's the best producer?". Having a funny producer on air is merely a bonus and, in that role, Tim is one of the most valuable people on Atlanta radio, but as a straight multi-faceted producer (which is what they're ultimately paid for), Tracy is indispensable and considered one of the best in the industry.

But he only produces a half-hour every day... the only change through the morning is which one of Herb's toes is aching.

Belinda Skelton has to deal with Neal everyday. Does that make her one of the hardest working morning show producers?

The best producer in Atlanta isn't working, (not full time in radio anyway). It's Mike Stiles, who held down the fort at Star 94 during the glory years. He was an amazing ringmaster and idea generator a la Bert's producer PLUS a comic whirling dirvish like Andrews. I think he moved on to acting and on-camera stuff but he still does comedy for a radio network.
