Morning Shows

I am curious to know which morning shows will survive the PPM? Tman, Martyreimer, Jim Day, KBSG show and a couple of more have been vanquished. The shows that survive based on ratings look like KISS and J/B for sure with their new contract. Maybe Fitz at WOLF. Seems its the newer shows that PPM likes and heritage doesn't count for much. what becomes of Bob Rivers and Ickabod and K/A and the long time standards. Glenn Beck owns mornings in this town in the news talk world along with NPR. will KIRO-FM and KOMO-Am lean more on syndication? Very little outside of KISS and maybe the WOLF seem for sure these days. I wonder if more all-music shows like JACK and KJR-Am will show up?

I would bet Bob Rivers, Ichabod, Kent and Alan will be around this time next year. This board has predicted their demise for years. Same for the morning shows on KBKS, KISW, KWFF, and KRWM. Question marks might be KQMV, KUBE, KMTT, KNDD and KWJZ. All of these are relatively new shows, many in the last few months. Time will tell if they survive. I wish them well.

You can pretty much bet that with current ratings success KJAQ and KJR-FM will be all music mornings for a long time to come.

I expect much more change on the news talk sports front, where all morning news/talk shows are having severe ratings issues with the exception of KJR-AM which is doing much better in PPM and is top three 25-54 men. I would anticipate that KIRO AM/FM will combine again to grow ratings and split apart during week-day Mariner broadcasts. They have already re-joined for weekend sports like Mariners and Seahawks.

At the risk of being sued by Disney/ESPN for violating the agreement to carry ESPN on KIRO-AM, I doubt that will happen. FM simulcast AM for Mariners and Seahawks, yes. But not the other way around.
