Morning TV Changes

There seems to be a lot of changing taking place on local morning TV.

WKYC has hired a new co-anchor from Providence, RI to join Mark Nolan on its morning newscast. http://wkycdirectorscut.blogspot.com/2011/11/wkyc-names-erin-kennedy-as-new-wkyc.html

This comes after WEWS announced a brand new coming early next year, and rumors of one of the female anchors possibly moving to PM on WJW.

I've not seen so many changes in the AM on TV since 2007 when all the news stations made changes with anchor teams. Wonder what WOIO will have in store for next year?

Well, Brian Duffy and Lynna Lai have been paired up at the anchor desk for the last couple of years, and thankfully, they did away with the silly "Double Team Weather" gimmick, with Jason Handman now doing solo duty, while Jenn Harcher is now on fill-in duty.

Remember too, they also just expanded their morning show, moving their start time to 4:30 a.m. (so now all 4 Cleveland TV newsrooms start at half past 4), and also recently expanded it on the later side by adding a 7-8 a.m. hour on WUAB.

So at the start of 2012, here's what the morning shows will look like:

WKYC 3:
Anchors--Mark Nolan and Erin Kennedy
Weather--Hollie Strano
Traffic--Pat Butler
Ways 2 Save--Matt Granite

WEWS 5:
Anchors--Mike Dunston and Macie McGinnis-Jepson
Weather--Christine Ferrieria
Traffic--Alicia Roberts

WJW 8:
Anchors--Wayne Dawson and Stefani Schaffer (with a third TBA assuming Tracy McCool goes to PM)
Weather--Scott Sabol (sometimes alongside Angelica Campos)
Traffic--Kristi Capel
Feature Reporter--Kenny Crumpton

WOIO 19/WUAB 43:
Anchors--Brian Duffy and Lynna Lai
Weather--Jason Handman
Traffic--Ashley Johncola
