Mornings at KBKS

This is from the mammaknowsbest file. Would it make sense for Clear Channel to steal Brooke and Monti for KBKS mornings in a ya ya sweet move. The girls room beats KBKS in mornings in every major demo on a four book and got very close to T-man this summer so this move woudl do two things it would wound MOVIN helpign kube and kiss while putting a younger mor in touch show for women on kISS. I know everyone on this board thinks i am ya ya nuts but i gotta tell you it would ber better than the syndicated CC shows that are airing elsewhere.Mamma has not led this board wrong lets check the facts. MOVIN is still going strong when all said it would die. Monti has gone from part-time, to mornings to a full morning show that is top three 18 to 34 just behind kisw and kube and in the ya ya sisterhood of women is number 2. I believe I picked her out as the up and coming talent. (the girl is also a youtube star with her interviews with Nelly and others)I said Movin would bury kiss and they have. I said Movin would bury Kube and they almost did in the summer so I just missed that one. Maybe that is the best reason CC would hire them. No proof on this one just posting because over time Mammaknows best!!!!! Ya ya good.

I follow the logic but this scenario is unlikely for multiple reasons not the least of which is that the MOVIN morning show does not outperform the station which is a key parameter in the hiring of any morning team to better a station performance. In Seattle there are just a handful of morning talent that outperform the station in key demographics. They are: BJ Shea, Bob Rivers, Kent and Alan, Adam Corolla and AM News on KIRO and KOMO. All other shows perform at the level of the station or worse. KQMV, KMTT, KRWM and KWJZ all have morning shows that perform well under the station ratings. The KBKS morning show has been performing well under the station level, but that is a recent trend. Nights and Afternoons on KBKS perform well over the station rating so Clear Channel will most likely keep these shows. I have this on good authority. I also have it on good authority that CC may go with syndicated programming but in the short-term may keep the current KBKS show. In my humble view this most likely be a financial decision based on what price the underperforming show is willing to take and the need to clear syndicated programming. Clear Channel and CBS morning shows that have contracts up are taking salary cuts in the range of 40-60%. If they decline, they are replaced by syndication or cheaper shows. It is my view that while the girls room is a cheaper show but its lack of ability to outperform the station rating makes it unlikely to move. I assume the show has a non-compete as well which makes this discussion moot.
