Mornings not so hot at Warm

If history is a guide, then they'll bring back Tom McCarthy.

And a bit of trivia, Mark Christopher was an on-air personality and helped launch the old KMCQ for about 2 weeks when it moved to Cougar in 2010.

Wasn't he one of their long time personalities? I'm not entirely sure if he had a co-host or not, but it seems like the one man morning show is a thing of the past. Its a shame to hear that he is out...

Yes... the one man morning show is a thing of the past, to be replaced by the voice-tracked or all automated morning show.

Well, I was thinking more along the lines of morning "teams" that involve three or so people that are sort of like their own brand.

John Fisher formerly of 103.7 The Mountain is doing mornings. Not a good fit at Warm.

Yeah, wonder why the Q ever let Mark go? He's sure bounced around since KBSG went bye bye. Let's see, he was at Warm for a bit, then left for the brief stint at KMCQ, then was out of work for a bit until KVI went oldies, then they dropped that format and about 9 months later he resurfaced at Warm. Warm should really get a two or more person morning show.

I agree. Sure, people like music in the morning, but they also want to hear about current events, gossip, etc. Not an easy feat when you don't have co-hosts to take some of the weight off of your shoulders.

I get that some people deem the current state of morning radio to be trash trash because the popular morning radio shows mainly feature "personal interest" programming rather than news/information/music (but again, looking back is not a good thing). There seems to be a big divide over people who prefer music and information in the morning, and people who want to hear a show geared towards listener entertainment.

Sue Romero (ex-KBSG/KVI/KOMO) has been on the morning show since last summer, so Mark wasn't alone. She's still there.

Do you realize who these 'people' are? People that have worked, and been around radio since way before you were even born.

Well... that's what the morning shows all were about a decade ago. And there were some good shows! But stations are continuing to downsize their on air talent, gutting many of the iconic shows thats were around for years. There appear to be very few new shows under development or in the pipeline. If radio ever can get back on its feet financially, there won't be anyone left who knows how to put out a quality morning product.

I see your point. You certainly cannot expect a quality product from an experienced team when you are not willing to pay for it.
