Most annoying commercial of 2012

I first saw it earlier this week and I can't believe it's only January and they've already came out with what I think is the most annoying commercial of 2012. It's called "The JC Penney Enough is Enough" Commercial.

Let me set this up for everyone. Beginning February 1, 2012 JC Penney's is revamping their whole business model. They're eliminating sales. They're going to lower the prices of all their merchandise by 40% and occasionally run things at an even lower price. (Seems to me a little like what Walmart does with their everyday low prices and then doing roll backs).

Anyway in this commercial everyone is screaming "No" because they missed all the sales. You see signs throughout the commercial "67% Off Yesterday Only", people cutting coupons for sale, over-flowing mailboxes full of "sales", "43% off at 4:30 AM Only," "Sale Tuesday and Friday Only".

When I first saw this one, and before the end of it...I guessed it was JCPenney promoting the change, sure enough. But I had no idea they were going to be *so obnoxious* with it. I'm already tired of it; hopefully it goes away after the 1st. I'm not sure this radical change is going to work for them (I didn't think JCPenney was doing that bad as a company, but apparently that new CEO thinks he knows what he's doing ??? ??? ...I know he was at Apple, but anyway)--I know, OT?, but the change (and the ad campaign) might be enough to scare potential buyers off to Kohl's or one of the other chains.

I've been tired of the pig since the back-seat-of-the-car-ride-home ads. >ugh<

I first saw the commercial on Wednesday. I was dozing on the sofa watching Dr. Oz and I woke up and was thinking "What the hang?" Just like when I'm dozing watching TV and all of a sudden they run an EAS Test.

No doubt the Geico pig is stupid. But my current vote is a holdover from 2011. I hate the big banks and their predatory lending practices. So the Chase or Captial One (can't remember which group of vipers!) commercial with the girl buying rock climbing supplies really grates my nerves. One because of the credit card, but the thing that makes my skin crawl is the song that goes "somebody left the gate open..." The singer, to me, sounds injured and I end up with that stupid song in my head all day!

Yep. It's time to 'pull the pork.'

I hate that song "Somebody left the gate open" I never could understand what she was saying anyway. she sounds like one of those long haired maggot infested "FM' type hippie chicks that you see sitting barefoot on a stool strumming a guitar in a coffee shop somewhere.

How long does it usually take?
Sounds like the first one you see after the ball drops would be "most annoying" and it would usually build and snowball from that point....

IMHO, the most annoying commercial of 2012 I would say definately Phramaceutical commercials. They should ban Parmaceutical ads from TV (except over-the-counter ones) just like Cigarette ads in early 1971.

I'll go along with you on that.

I agree with MarcB. Seldom does a commercial make me reach for the remote. The JC Penny ad does. And I don't shop there.

Yeah, at least wait until the Super Bowl before we pick the year's worst ads.

Like the JC Penney commercial or not, it is effective,,, we are discussing it here. I saw it last night and thought it was pretty intense and seemed to go on a little longer than necessary, but as for getting noticed,, I think it does a good job. For making the case for shopping at JC Penney,, not so much. Too much "NO" and not enough sell. However, I'm sure there are more to come that will explain Penneys new pricing strategy.

I nominate Progressive Insurance for most annoying commercial of 2012... and 2011... and 2010...
