There are many people who have FM frequencies which are crowded with multiple stations in a single area that you hear all the time. This doesn’t occur as much on the AM dial, but it happens.
In our area, the most crowded AM frequency is probably one of our graveyarders. 1400 AM has multiple stations within 100 miles. Savannah, GA has one, along with Georgetown, SC. Columbia, SC also has a station. With all being 1kw, there is very little overlap though. There isn’t really a frequency with two decently-powered stations close by.
The most crowded FM frequency in our area is probably 107.9. We have two 50kw stations within 90 miles (Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head). Depending on where you are, in the summer it can frequently flip from Hilton Head’s oldies to Myrtle Beach’s country.
