Most Entercom FM's Return To Normal Programming... And There's A Twist!

I'll put this in the sticky thread as well.

As of today, most of Entercom's FM stations have returned to normal music programming.

The only one that hasn't is 105.3. They're still carrying the URBNO.

However, when they do return to normal, they won't be "Rocking the Bayou".

-----------

As of today, "Kool 95.7" is dead. All 10%'rs, switch your dials to the new "Bayou 95.7".

I'm not kidding on this one.

However, oldies will not be dead... they'll just be moving to the new "Kool 105.3" soon.

No that's actually the website for a Triad Broadcasting station in Nebraska. You gotta wonder though why Entercom would move Bayou to 95.7 without putting a new format on 105.3. I'm not saying Kool is dead, but it seems very suspicious...

Wrong URL.

http://www.whois.sc/kool1053fm.com

Right now, the website is one First Mediaworks/Mediaspan Online built for a station in England, but the domain IS registered to Entercom. I think FMW is just testing things.
______________

Doesn't 105.3 have a better coverage area than 95.7?

Actually, 95.7 has a smidge better signal than 105.3. 95.7's on the Spectrasite tower in Gretna, and 105.3's on the WLAE tower in Chalmette. I don't see any real advantage to swapping frequencies.

However, I'd bet this is the first of many wholesale format changes. With the rebuilding of New Orleans, and no ratings for a while, stations will try new things. It's pretty much like everyone is starting from scratch.

Once Citadel gets back online, I'd bet we'd see more wholesale changes.

Now if 95.7 would work with 1450 and bring back the WBYU calls...
______________
