Most interesting hotel/hospital lineups

I was at the Sleep Inn in Missoula MT on Friday-Sunday night. The cable lineup was nearly a carbon copy of the Best Western in April (see post #193). But it was missing the HBO networks, the sports channels above channel 78, and most importantly - no access to Fox or NBC (KTMF-DT2 / KECI). Meanwhile, KTMF and KPAX didn't have the best signal either - occasional pixelization when I tried to watch the MTN News with Jill Valley. Too bad, since they covered the Missoula Marathon in-depth and had better WX coverage than KTM...oh wait, I have to call them NonStop Local nowadays.

Snowy analog on a hotel cable system in 2023...that's something I did not expect. I wonder if there are still motels out there with old tube TVs and 30-channel cable systems? Or VCRs?

Hotels with no linear cable service? Where was this? Which chains? Because surely, that is NOT Best Western or Choice Hotels chains. Until recently, Shilo Inns around Portland had vintage 9" Magnavox TVs in the *bathroom*, facing the toilet. I kid you not. This was on top of 19" vintage Magnavox's in the entertainment center. If only there was a VCR, a cassette player with Phil Collins pre-loaded in it, and VHS copies of Top Gun in every room.

KQCK’s OTA virtual channel is actually 33. Silly me.

It's actually virtual 39 (it changed to virtual 39 from virtual 33 in 2017). For that station's first 25 years on the air, it was a Cheyenne market station, serving as southeast Wyoming's NBC and then ABC station before moving into Denver (KQCK is still licensed to Cheyenne to this day)

In 2000, I stayed at the St Louis Hyatt Union Station hotel (currently a Curio by Hilton) that had 9' B&W Zenith TVs in bathroom hooked to hotel cable lineup (itself pretty pathetic), the main room had a then modern Phillips tube TV with overpriced PPV movies available

After two different hospital stays over the past six months the most irritating thing to me about their TV lineup is that they don't match, or even come anywhere near, the common channel designations for the metro area. They are wildly different and also don't have an electronic menu. I guess anything is better than nothing but.....
