Most interesting hotel/hospital lineups

Cox Cable in Fredericksburg VA has a fairly standard lineup, including WTVR (CBS) from Richmond. But the strange part is, they only carry WTVR during newscasts, any other time it's replaced by a slide that says WTVR is only available during certain hours.

I live in Spotsylvania County and we have FIOS here at home, I get WTVR and WRLH (FOX Richmond) with full access, not just during newscasts.

I've seen that happen elsewhere. I know in Scottsbluff, Nebraska when they got their own NBC a couple years ago cable kept KUSA Denver but for newscasts only.

I believe that's what Ellensburg cable (Spectrum) does with KOMO and KING. Local programs only, everything else is blacked out due to restrictions and being in the Yakima DMA.

I stayed at a hotel in Troy, Ohio last year and they get their cable from Spectrum, which carries WLIO during newscasts (and possibly any syndicated shows uncleared in Dayton or pre-empted by WDTN). Instead of "this channel is only available at certain times", they insert EWTN on that channel (EWTN is carried fully on another channel)

Years ago the Ellensburg cable (according to the Yakima Herald's TV insert) inserted Travel Channel in times where KING-5 was running network/syndi programming. Not sure if it's just a blackout bumper now or what. I move up there in mid-September so I'll let y'all know.

I thought about it more, so my guess is that this is because XEWT’s and XHDTV’s programming is aimed at potential viewers on both sides of the border (I looked up Milenio Televisión, which I found is carried on pay TV providers throughout both the U.S. and Mexico, and also produces newscasts for Spanish-language independent KWHY channel 22 in Los Angeles); whereas XETV’s programming seems to only target Mexico.

Snow on channel 43 at the Silver Sevens? So they are still using an analog cable lineup in nearly 2020?
I notice hotel lineups seem to be getting better, not worse...maybe it's due to less LodgeNet, more DTA boxes. I mean, you can go to many hotels including Hampton Inns, and have 200 DIRECTV channels at your viewing pleasure including all locals.
