Most popular AC station in U.S.A.

Probably one in the big markets. WLTW-106.7 NYC is an example. KRWM 106.9 Seattle is very popular as well...

I don't think this one will be easy. Now if we go by market, then that would make it easier to list.

For Chicago, WLIT still manages to do well in the AC category, despite losing ratings in the last few years.

For Milwaukee, that would be WLDB by default, because there's no other AC station that covers the entire market. The only other AC station is WEZY out of Racine, WI, but they're only marketing themselves to Racine & Kenosha Counties of Wisconsin, & not trying to make themselves to be a Milwaukee station (their signal only covers the southern part of the market with Grade B coverage over Milwaukee). WLDM (as WJZI) slowly migrated to AC after CC's WLTQ changed formats in 2004, since Milwaukee had 2 Hot AC stations at the time (WMYX, which is still on, & WKTI, but now WLWK), & WLTQ's rating took a sharp drop, due to sounding more like a Hot AC station, but with 70's music in the mix.

I don't know how WLIT bills (probably well), but I've often wondered if they stay around for the sole purpose of Christmas music as it is so huge for them. Clear Channel has nowhere else to put it, and no way are they giving that up. WILV, WLS-FM, and WTMX sort of oppress the regular AC format.

I would say WLIT is the least-successful (as far as ratings) AC in the top 10 markets. They tried to get hotter last year but it didn't help.

KODA in Houston, WASH in D.C., and WBEB in Philadelphia are all very successful and popular.

I would say this would be my Top List:
1/ KOST
2/ WLTW
3/ WBEB
4/ WMJK
5/ WSB (well, the former WSB, very little 80s now, pretty much 90s to Now)

Hubbard Broadcasting (before that Bonneville International) has intentionally kept 100.3 a flanker intentionally, so that it doesn't take away ratings from WTMX. Hubbard considers WTMX their biggest biller with Classic Hits The Drive on the WDRV/WWDV simulcast their second biggest biller. By now, there isn't as much overlap in Hot AC & AC as in years past. WTMX is sounding more like an Adult CHR station with a lot of rap music (mostly music made in the last 5 years), while WILV has focused more on 70's, 80's, & some 2000's, & very little 90's music. With little overlap, I don't see how WILV could hurt WTMX. If I were the station's owner, I'd rather have the listeners go to one of my other stations than to a competitor's station. WTMX seems to have more in common with WKSC-FM music wise than WLIT or sister station WILV. For Hubbard, depending on how well Merlin Media markets 101.1 this time around, WIQI could hurt WILV's ratings, as their playlist is heavy on 90's music, which WILV has overall avoided, except for You Outta Know & You Learn from Alanis Morissette, & Semi-charmed Life from Third Eye Blind, & Vogue from Madonna (only 90's songs I can think of that I heard on WILV). With WIQI, it won't be an AC station at all, but I believe either a Gen X format, or Classic CHR with music from 1988 - 2003 (as most songs are from this time frame). Still, this station could make WILV's rating go down even more, since that station uses the slogan of hits of the 80's & 90's, but play few 90's songs (focuses heavily on 80's the most & 70's second).
