You should be able to run it legally until at least July!

Is CQUAM being outlawed at some point?

I would like one. PM me please. I have a use for it outside of broadcasting.

Geez, wasn't it mandated at one point? (C-quam)
The mind boggles.

According to Part 73, it is STILL Mandated on X Band stations (1620-1710)...Even if the FCC has allowed CQUAM, the section mandating AM Stereo has preference...and I havent seen it recinded yet...(but then the FCC is always right and never makes a mistake right? ;)

Hmmmmm? Care to share?

I can utilize it for a variable (M+S) / (M-S) processor to aid in an analogue noise reduction scheme I am working on for older analogue tapes which have dolby mistrack issues.

Ask an intelligent question, get an evasive non-response.

I am hoping this to not be the case here; although I am working on someone elses project and I am personally limited in the scope of details I can provide.

Ah!

I worked out a phase NR for mono records that works surprisingly well. I did this with a DAW.

Let us know how it works.

It's a rough way to do Matrix processing

Yes, it is rough, certainly. the key is to map out the problem areas on the tape and do it on the fly rather than to cut the files from the daw in sections and paste the whole thing together. 4 passes should suffice.

I have the mercury Waves bundle and all kinds of various toys but I have a hunch that "with modifications" I can make it do what I want it to do.

Ever heard of Bob Vogt? He passed away in Tallahassee last year and I am carrying on part of his legacy.

He is the guy who used over 200 heads to extract data from erased tapes.

No-that is not meant for you. It's for another person who has a similar signoff who does not seem to know how to answer a question in kind. Ah, politics and related discussion.

I would appreciate a page devoted to technique-if you get the opportunity to discuss openly.
