Mount Rushmore of Radio

Some underated jocks "Dangerous" Dan Donovan, Dave Parks, "Banana" Joe, John "Records" Landecker, JJ Jeffrey, Long John Wade, Al Bandiero, Jeff Robbins, Jim Reid, and a Philadelphia radio legend -Harvey Holiday

I'm sort of biased here, but as far as Philadelphia radio goes, Don Cannon belongs.
Cannon had the capacity to take any format and mold it into *his* show, not the other way around. One example was when he filled in for William B Williams at WNEW 1130. (I'm quite certain that no listener to the station previously ever heard a jock there nail the talk-up to 'People' by Streisand).

By 'biased', I mean in the context of having worked for him once in his PD days, and almost a second time, in Philadelphia. That ex-NYC guy had a definite cockiness about his approach which I thought was well-earned -- and a terrific radio voice. He was great to work for. Several years back, a pal of ours visited east for a few weeks and stayed here. Before his arrival I connected the outdoor TV aerial to the GE Superadio and spun it toward Philly so that Harry could hear Cannon on WOGL. Harry went nuts, and airchecked the show on his ever-present casette deck to bring home to California.
Of course, Harry was another jock who had Cannon for a PD, too.

A Mt. Rushmore is in part built on fame, and the way radio has gone for a while, it eliminates a lot of people from the past couple decades. Despite that, in my honest opinion, I'd be inclined to find a spot for Sam Lit. Although I'm far from an expert on internet radio, and barely above that on commercial radio (dedicated listener back in the day, modest several year career behind the mike), it seems to me that his close work with his dad and off the air to transitioning to his HyLitRadio.com project at a minimum bears consideration.

To be honest, and not at all offensive, if Howard Eskin is worth a nomination (we're talking Mt. Rushmore, not influential), I feel Sam is a worthy nomination although Sam's credentials stand on their own, it's not a mere substitution.

I agree with those supporting the Blavat nomination.

Harry Kalas is probably worth consideration as well.
