Mountain Man out at WHJJ...

I heard the last hour of Helen's show today and Mountain Man announced that he was leaving WHJJ to pursue another oportunity working with Bikes.

Helen dedicated the last 1/2 hour of her show for well wishers.
A true class send off done in class.

It was a true honor to work with Mark. Knows WHJJ like the back of his hand.
One of the best I ever worked with.
He will be missed!

Thank you Mark, from Tony Far.

Hey Mountain! Good for you. Corwin all by himself ruined Getto Plex. You probably saw the writting on the wall. Those cheap bas--rds should give you a 10,000 dollar bonus for being at their Beck and Call 365 a year.
I heard Helen or Miller will be on 5 to 8 am. HJJ, continuing to sink their ship!
You're SMART to leave. Thanks for being in VietNam for us. You were always a quite and very sweet man. Good bye buddy,
from the girl who wore sandals too often..

This came in as one of the most discussed topics of the last 3 hours on the front page here. Imagine out of market people rushing here to see if it means there's a choice opening at HJJ.

They will be better off staying in Milwaukee.

Right now both Wpro and Whjj are paying Minimum wage or alittle higher, to board opps and screeners.
Walter.

Oh They have ALWAYS been that cheap? How sad for the industry when Circus Clowns are getting paid more money than people in Radio.

I just think if you're running the Board, or screening, thats important . At least 12 dollars an hour.
At least, thats what I believe.

Ohhhhh 92, What did you say!!! If a board opp makes a mistake, we're OFF THE AIR! I think you
pay peanuts, you get the work of monkeys. If WPRO can pay Buddy 300,000 they can pay a guy
or gal 10 an hour! Geeezzzz.

[EDIT] As far as the pay, minimum wage might be stretching it a bit; but it was under $10 an hour when I started at the Trail 18 years ago as a board op/promotions asst. It is an entry level gig, plain and simple.

It's a testament to the tenacity of the current management's ineptitude when Mountain Man finally reaches the point where he quits. Somehow, unfathomably, the current regime has outlasted him.
