My mouse has crapped out so it's time for a replacement. I'm curious what you use for your editing work. Do you prefer a good solid optical or laser mouse? Or a trackball? Or?

hmm. I just grabbed a logitech optical mouse from Staples for now. I looked at the trackballs but didn't see one I liked.

After using this one all day, I think it's going to be relegated to my wife's computer. I just can't seem to get the scroll speed and smoothness dialed in right.
You know what I miss? Back in the late 90's I worked at a station that had these huge ass track balls. The balls in these things looked like a billiards cue ball, and they had three or four big buttons all around it. They were great for editing. I have no idea who made them, but whoever it was went out of business. I personally rebuilt a few when the switches went bad.
Ah well, no more of the "good old days talk" tonight or I might actually talk fondly about grease pencils.

I've got a Logitech Trackman Wheel, with a thumb-ball on the left side, and 2 regular mouse buttons plus a thumb wheel on the other half.. took some getting use to, but now I love it... sooooo much faster than a mouse.
