Movie on RUSH LIMBAUGH!

Be interesting to see how they market the movie.

Will Rush let them make a national buy or will they have to buy through local stations?

Isn't the left-wing organizing a do-not-buy list against all Talk Radio? Wouldn't the producer and distributor be in violation of the DNB by buying on talk radio to promote the movie?

I bet they'll wrongfully accuse Rush of calling Obama "Magic Negro" when in fact Rush was repeating what the LA Times said about Obama.

Not true. Not true at all.

There is a broad movement against Limbaugh. As far as I know, it doesn't target ANY other talk radio host.

The corporations themselves turned against conservative talk radio exactly five business days after Rush first apologized over Fluke. The information listing Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh, Tom Leykis, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity as "controversial" was originally in a Premiere Networks memo that PN routinely posted to one of their web pages. They took it down within hours because it became a huge story in the aftermath of Rush talking about Fluke. This corresponded with Premiere suspending national ads for two weeks:

Just one business day after that, the number of corporations was 140:

If you were at the Norm Pattiz talk last month, you heard him say that all of talk radio has been adversely affected, with ad revenue down by as much as 50 percent in some markets.

On the other hand, as far as I know, no one has credibly argued that all of talk radio has been targeted. The only person that Norm mentioned as being targeted was Rush:

That "second hand" argument is beside the point. Rush has played a song called "Barack the Magic Negro" many times, and most recently, just a month ago: We Play "Barack the 'Magic Negro'" in Honor of Ann Coulter's New Book, http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/daily/2012/09/25/we_play_barack_the_magic_negro_in_honor_of_ann_coulter_s_new_book

When you think about it, Rush has been doing 15 hours of live content a week for over 20 years, and has made only a handful of truly offensive comments.

Depends upon your definition of "truly offensive" i suppose.

Rush archives are online, and can easily be checked for offensive terminology. One interesting aspect of that, however, is that Limbaugh's team removed some of his show archives about Sandra Fluke -- presumably so that no one could link to them.

But search for a patented Limbaugh term like "feminazi" and you'll find that Rush has used the expression more than 200 times since he started the archives.

Search for the term s*l*u*t (spelled correctly, of course), and you'll find that he's used that word well over a hundred times.

I expect some would consider either of those "truly offensive" when directed at someone, so the "handful" of truly offensive comments might require a fairly large hand...

I do not hear much advertising on talk radio for movies except political ones like 2016 or American Carrol or Atlas Shrugged. 2016 did OK the other two movies did not do well.

I think the Franken book made the best seller list, the Bill Maher movie did not do that well, the Moore Movies do alright usually.

The Limbaugh movie will do well internationally I bet.

Especially in India.

Whenever you click on LIKEs on Limbaugh's Rush Babes For America page on Facebook, you are likely to see something like this:

May 6, 2012
Most Popular Week
New Delhi, Delhi, India
Most Popular City
45-54 years old
Most Popular Age Group

http://www.facebook.com/RushBabesforAmerica/likes

This page has had cities in India listed more than anywhere else. (It does move around, but keeps returning to India.) The most prominent theory about this is that Limbaugh bought a large block of those LIKEs. But it appears to be about who is talking about this page on Facebook now, so maybe Rush just happens to be popular there. Rush had a relative who was ambassador to India, so that's another possible connection.

I remember that, some people like to be liked so much they pay for it. People in other countries like to see "ugly Americans" satirized.

What lies or misrepresentations? It's an opinion show. I'm sure he has been wrong a few times in over 25 years of 15 hours of original opinion content.

Some folks sure drink the kool-ade...

In other words, very few mistakes in 25 years of 15 hours of weekly original content.

Seems like much of the Rush content comes from the media, much of it mainstream media. Does Rush have a team of investigative reporters who gather news? or does it come from the drudge report that comes from the mainstream media 80% of the time?

It's all from newspapers and some news clips. In "An Army of One", Rush says that he reads newspapers every morning looking for content for his show. Now he has Drudge, which is nothing more than links to stories that should appeal to people with a similar world view.

Like "The Magic Negro". Rush did not say that. It was a writer for the LA Times. But Rush read the article and did several parodies on the comment.

A former LA area talk host, would always say "here is an interesting article and interestingly it comes from the LA TIMES" "here is a good story and uncharacteristically it come from the NY TImes" "Quite unusually, CBS covered a story on such and such..." blah blah.

Most of his stories came from the mainstream media...which was biased in his opinion.

Unfortunately Drudge has not had a real scoop since the blue dress. Newsmax, Breitbart, etc. it would be good if the did get some more original stories...
