Movie Plex Ch 55 gone from Rochester TW

I see Movie Plex has been removed from Rochester Time Warner. Anybody know why? Will anything replace it.
For anyone not knowing what Movie Plex is............. It's a rotating daily schedule of the Encore channels. The only one I really cared about was Wednesday -the Western Channel, but not enough to subscribe to it. Still I feel I have been ripped off again by Time Warner. Something taken away but no reduction in monthly bills

We don't have Movie Plex in Syracuse, but from your description, it sounds like a redundant service.

If you have digital cable, all you have to do is hit "guide" and scroll to the appropriate channels to see what's on.
If you have analog cable, you can just go to the TV Guide channel. You'd have to wait a little longer, and you'd only see the immediate future instead of the entire day, but all program listings are also available online through TV Guide's website.

I can't blame TWC for dropping a channel that only shows program schedules that are readily available in other places, especially when they keep using bandwidth as their excuse for being slow on adding new HD channels and/or for implementing metering for RoadRunner. If the TV Guide Channel itself didn't show programming on the top-half of the screen, I'm sure it would already be gone too... as it is, in the Syracuse region, you can't see TVG on digital cable because it's blocked out. You can only see TVG if you're watching w/o a cable box.

Movie Plex was nice because while it did offer limited movies, there were no commercials every five minutes. Perhaps that is why TW eliminated this network because they couldn't jam their "Three-in-One" ads in along with the numerous car commercials that currently bombards the airwaves.

I have no idea what channel, if any, is going to replace Movie Plex. Perhaps TW will leave it blank, or find some other network that edits movies to make room for more ads and promotional spots for Time Warner. ::)

As of 5/27 Time Warner still just had a board up stating that Movie Plex would be removed from ch 55 as of May 1st. I don't think they gave any notice other than that. Can't wait for another for another religious station, shopping channel or sports (gotta have polo from South Africa) to replace a decent movie channel. I really looked forward to Wednesday- the Western Channel. Maybe Time Warner could replace it with the FOX movie Channel ? Naw.

Believe it or not, the message is still posted on Channel 55 (stating that as of May 1st Movie Plex is history).

As for the Fox Movie Channel, if I am not mistaken, TW offers that already in Rochester.

Yes, but only on the digital tier. I'm too cheap to get that. Also, don't want any more Time Warner stuff in my place.

If it wasn't for my job (needing to have the ability to watch cable access in Webster) I would have ditched cable television a long time ago.

It makes me sick that out of the over 1,000 channels offered, most of them show movies that have aired a zillion times. Informercials up the wazoo. And just plain junk. Meanwhile I'm shelling out thousands of dollars a year for what? Even Road Runner is starting to get slower than Wile E Coyote.
