Movie Reviewer

RadioWarrior said:
Is there an entertaining movie reviewer doing any radio in L.A? Or anywhere for that matter?

I thought Tom Hatten was doing reviews and entertainment news at KNX, but they canned him because he wasn't young enough.

..."entertaining"? Why should one suddenly appear now, when the last one (Harlan Ellison on KPFK) quit 20 years ago?...

There was one on KABC during one of the shows.. but now that it's gone ..so is he.

Peter Tilden was one of the casualties of the crazy layoffs instituted by Citadel Broadcasting's financial woes; his last show was on March 1, A sad day in talk radio.

Yes, it was. However, Peter Tilden is multifaceted and can go on to other things. He is a legend and a hell of a talent. Talk radio is NOT better without him, but he can survive without radio.

Ever met him? You might feel different. As for legend status, I think not. I thought he was funny at one time though.

I have met him a few times during his time on KZLA (2001-2006), and most recently spent 4-1/2 hours with him a few months ago prior to, during and after the taping of his former show on KABC. He has always treated me with sincere kindness and professionalism.

I do feel that he is diverse in his ability to be able to be useful in many positions, as an on air talent, producer, director, writer, actor etc.

His radio career has spanned 20 years and along with his time in radio he has also filled the above positions in writing television shows, screenplays, movies, directing TV series as well as producing award winning country music videos.

He took home the award for Country Music Video of the Year twice (2004 & 2006).
"When I Get Where I'm Going." and "Celebrity." were the videos he teamed up with Brad Paisley to produce and bringing home an award speaks for itself.

Everyone has an opinion about who and what people are, and we all have the right to like or dislike whomever we chose to in life. You're not liking Peter does not in my opinion change the things that he has done throughout the last 10 years. I believe credit should be given where credit is due and Peter Tilden in my opinion is a LEGEND and unlike other radio personalities I have encountered throughout the years, he is NOT a legend in his own mind...
