I haven't been able to receive WVCC-LD down in Rockland reliably for probably a month or so now. I suspect they must be on lower power or something.WVCC-LD subchannels 49.16 and 49.17 came on the air today. That makes 16 subchannels after 49.1 (“Binge” network).
The two new channels look like just more infomercials and commercials, like a few of their other subchannels. At least that brings the total of TV signals I’m getting with an amplified indoor antenna in a second floor window on somewhat high ground in Somerville up to 92, though two of them (13.5 and 38.6) have been just blank dark carrier screens with no programming on for weeks.
Also noticed that my reception of WCVB Ch. 5 improved has greatly since I couldn’t get them at all for a while a few nights ago. It now seems to come in perfectly like all the other major Boston stations, it was often all broken up or chopped up with pixelation before. I didn’t think they needed to upgrade anything, but whatever they did appears to have worked. I used to have to watch ABC or MeTV on WLNE Ch. 6 from RI before.
Either that, or maybe there was something in my building or area creating some sort of RF interference on the TV band that has stopped.

WCVB was on their backup transmitter for about a week while dealing with an issue at the main site. It's all resolved now. Also noticed that my reception of WCVB Ch. 5 improved has greatly since I couldn’t get them at all for a while a few nights ago. It is. Several PAs are in alarm. It's a very old used transmitter that came from the Albany market.I haven't been able to receive WVCC-LD down in Rockland reliably for probably a month or so now. I suspect they must be on lower power or something.
Guess they swapped with WCRN, as it was posted on another site that they were now doing the 5G broadcasting that was on WWOO.WWOO Ch. 17.1 is back on in the Boston area. Haven’t seen it for a few years.
(If they have been broadcasting in ATSC, I have an older HDTV set and can’t receive that).
Good on-air signal in Somerville. It’s broadcasting the “France 24” news network that used to be on WCRN-LD 13.1, which appears to have gone off the air a few months ago. No subchannels.
