I received an e-mail from someone pointing out that Ion Life is now airing movies on certain days in prime time. Any idea how long this has been going on? Tonight for example they are airing Just Cause and Batman Forever, both from 1995.

Are you sure it's Ion Life, and not Ion TV? On my local Ion TV station, they air movies on certain nights, while Ion Life airs their regular TV schedule. Ion TV airs mostly infomercials in my area. My local Ion station is WCPX channel 43.1 (PSIP 38.1) with Qubo (children's cartoon channel) on 43.2 (PSIP 38.2), Ion Life on 43.3 (PSIP 38.3), & Worship (mostly religious music, with some sermons on some nights) on 43.4 (PSIP 38.4).
I thought it was Ion TV, but I saw movie listings for tonight: On Deadly Ground at 6pm CST & The Rookie at 8pm CST. It's sad that Ion isn't trying to improve Ion TV by keeping it mostly infomercials, while they add more programming to Ion Life. If I could eliminate PSIP 38.1 from my converter box, I would, and only have it programmed to go to PSIP 38.3. I don't watch Ion, Qubo, or Worship. But my box only goes by the channel itself, and picks up any subchannels as they're available. That's not separate like it is with my TV tuner card in my PC, where subchannels count as channels, and can delete the subchannels, or delete the main channel, but keep subchannels. But if a station adds subchannels, my PC TV Tuner card requires a new scan, but the converter box doesn't.
