Movin 92.5 3yrs on May 1st

Well May 1st will be the 3rd anniversary(?) for the format change KLSY to KQMV . So did Alllen what's his name make good on this move or is it dead like Jack? Did you know that MOVIN' is copyrighted? They still have that girlish attitude....at least they don't have 4hrs of love song dedications like the old KLSY.
But they could do better.....My 33yro gf loves the station.

3yrs ..That's good isn't it?..considering the rest of the U.S. it's either dead or dying.
Just something to make you say Hmm.

sorry my spell check aint checkin' spellin

3 years....hmmmm, 5 is about an average run for a format in Seattle, 10 years, you're a mainstay, longer than 15, you're heritage....

I don't think there's anyone in Factoria that regrets the format change. Movin's consistently performed better than Mix 92.5 ever did, plus they don't compete for listeners with Warm as much as Mix did yet still flank them on the younger end of female demos. The big question is how the station will perform with PPM, a question that will be answered in the near future.

Where's Mamma? You'd think she/he/it would be ya-yaing our eyes out at this news.....

I don't think Movin' lasting this long should surprise anyone. Sure it had some good books, just as JACK-FM did. But nowadays companies are content with mediocre stations as long as they turn a profit. So regardless if they pull in stellar numbers, companies will hang on to them longer if they are profitable.

They have decided to start advertising again. I saw an ad. during "Grey's Anatomy" on KOMO-TV tonight. Trade $ or a buy, what do you think?

I doubt, even in this economy, that a local avail on Grey's would go barter.

Movin in Seattle lasted longer than most markets because of poor execution by the Mainstream CHR in the market, in my humble view. That has changed in the last six months and Movin is no longer a factor. I would sincerely doubt that Movin was stronger in billing or ratings than KLSY. I note that KLSY delivered multiple 3 and 4 share books 25-54, as late as 2003. I assume the station billed at least twice what Movin bills. I noted that KLSY was the number three billing station in Seattle in 2000 and 2001. It would be unwise to change Movin until the PPM arrives to see what options are open. If KBKS does poorly Movin can slide into the Mainstream CHR position. If KUBE does poorly they can become a rhythmic CHR. Spanish is also becoming a solid potential format and with the Seattle Hispanic population expected to hit 10% in two year, a wise format parameter for 92.5.
