MOViN 92.5

I live nowhere a MOViN station, but I have to say, MOViN 92.5 has to be the best. I haven't listened to them in a long time, but their playlist looks outstanding. They keep it very current, but mix in the classics as well. They're not doing "all that" in the books, but I think this should definetely stay on the air. Whoever is MD over there is doing an excellent job. Any thoughts?

YA ya ya!~ Finally a fellow believer in the ya ya factor of Movin. (no jammin and I are not the same person).
Movin has already taken out KISS and with the ya ya girl mornings led by the immensly talented Monti,
the subtle update in music and a marketing campaign that is coming.
It should be difficult for KUBE to hold
its upper end and Star will finally follow the fate of KISS in 2008. Nice to see others on this board noticing the ya
ya music factor. Mamma loves it!

Hehe. I think MOViN 92.5 has to be the best MOViN. It's a lot better musically compared to the others. However, I think the best Rhythmic AC format is KPTT in Denver. 95.7 The Party (owned by Clear Channel)

...What?????

Just a play list does not make a station good or listenable. It’s the presentation and what’s between the music. To say a station is the best without listening just because you like the play list you saw, is very ....silly. To me what is between the music, how it is presented and even the sound (processing) of the station are factors. Better tell those listeners with diaries to stop listening to movin and just look at their play list...Maybe that will help their ratings.

So Mamma, when you say another believer in the Ya Ya factor...Do you mean that the Ya Ya Factor is just looking at the station and saying Ya Ya (or Yap Yap) and not actually listening to it. To just judge the station by the play list and personality line up? Hmmm think I finally figured out what the Ya Ya thing is about. Don't listen to the station...Just look at it...Does it look pretty...Ya Ya. So it goes like this...Does the morning show look pretty...Ya. Does the play list look good....Ya. So you are right Movin is a Ya Ya station. Who cares what they sound like and actually perform...Ya Ya that’s the way.

So DJdan throw out that four book...Just look at the playlist and pictures of the morning show....Whatever you do don't listen to the station.... Just turn down the sound and watch the RDS display the song titles as they scroll by.... or better yet just have the station fax you their play list each day....That's the Ya Ya way.

Your right Mamma, Movin never looked better as long as I don't have to listen to it deployed on the air.

Can't wait for a post saying how good Movin is because they like the way it smells...Ya Ya

Ya Ya I did it. I tuned my radio to Movin 92.5….And Ya Ya it’s great!!!!!. I turned the sound down so I couldn’t hear what was on the air at all. Then I just watched the RDS Display on my radio scroll the play list. And Ya Ya I get it.

You don’t know how stupid I feel knowing that I was using my radio wrong. Gees listening to a station just to see if I like it…What A fool I was. Never again do I have to listen to a station. Reading the play list is so much better. After all execution of the format is second to how the music looks on an RDS display or on a website. Ya Ya I get it now. Don’t listen….. Just look. Radio never sounded better.

Oh yes and I might add that Movin smelled great with the sound down!!!! No other station in the market smells like they do. Kinda a tuna smell….Don’t Ya Ya think.

KUBE had ratings amongst 18-34 year olds that doubled the station that was second best. That 2nd place station was KMPS, by the way, which is inexcusable . This illustrates the strangle hold KUBE has on the demographic that they target. They have done an impressive job defending their turf now more than ever. It also shows what disarray stations like Kiss, Movin, Jack, KNDD and others are in. I have consulted Kube and one other of the aforementioned stations in the past but none presently.

I think this cat (see link below) would make a great DJ on Movin. Say Friday and Saturday nights….You know go after that dance crowd. Even with the sound down, it looks Ya Ya good! It would really add to the smell of the station too.

You know, you must have a lot of time on your hands to do not one, not two, but 3 posts regarding the comments, Momma and I made. Also, FYI, I have listened to MOViN 92.5 and I enjoy their imaging, their presence, their jocks, their music, etc. So please do me a favor, don't judge a comment I say, just because I emphasized that I like their playlist. Ya ya? Ya ya.

Yawn! OK, so KQMV has TWO listeners.....

With all this "ya-ya" GARBAGE, I'm already nostalgic for "Mix 92.5"......

So I take it that you don't think the cat would be a good fit with Movin? And ya Ya know it is a three day weekend for some.

Hehe. Well, you must live in LA, therefore you can get the full experience of MOViN. Commercials and all! :D

Wow, what a great thread. All we need is radioprofessor to weigh in with his perceptual studies and djdan to discuss the sales perspective, and we'll be complete.

Folks, have we forgotten what SEATTLE is all about?

Seattle is about Gasworks Park. It's about Dick's Deluxe Cheeseburgers. It's about coffee made into an ART. It's about Pat O'Day, It's about the Space Needle, It's about the Miss KYYX and/or KISW. It's about the Seahawks, the Mariners and even the (corporately, and may I add WISHFULLY) traded-to-Oklahoma Sonics. Seattle is one town you do not DARE mess with.

For a brief time, we were the Rock-N-Roll Capitol Of The PLANET. We must reassert that position. And NEVER let it go.

Fads come and go, but at least some things about Seattle are here to STAY.

Like the BEST radio anywhere, from Vancouver, BC to Portland, OR. In some places in Seattle. you can still get most of it. I've driven through Federal Way and picked up KUFO on 101.1 FM where by the time I got into Lynnwood, it sputtred into life as CFMI 101.1 out of Vancouver, BC (and did I mention those 3 or so pirates in the North King/South Snohomish County areas that pop up on 101.1 MHz every now and then?) At roughly 55 to 60 MPH (usually under that in peak drive times just outside of Seattle) it's nice to hear some BETTER radio than what it usually offered from the "legit" stations.

Radio still has it's place. May not be 100% digital or corporately owned, but it's here to STAY...

this struck me as interesting, when listening recently I heard an ID or maybe it was a sweeper not sure of the exact time but regardless, the imaging piece stated that "according to Mediabase Movin 92.5 plays more music than any other station in Seattle. 150 mins more than anyone" -

I found it odd that they would reference Mediabase in an imaging element......

Do the listeners really care about Mediabase? Do the listeners even know what Mediabase is?

Hum, just left me sorta' curious....

Is that per day or per week?

If it's per week, what is that just over 20 minutes a day?

"Hey everyone we played 5 more songs today than our nearest competitor"!

If they think that's going to put them over the top and take KUBE down, I hope they don't get their hopes up.

Well put Fumanchu.

Or else they mickey mouse the music and munch the songs together.

Sandusky is probably thinking "Maybe we shouldn't have given up those nice, pretty KLSY calls so quickly...Now we have people like this Mamma thing and..HEY..does anybody else know who's...listening.....in.......Seattle........anybody?........

WHAT? YOU MEAN THAT MIKE WEBB'S INTERNET STATION IS GETTING BETTER RATINGS?.......

And WHO is this Mamma person anyway....."
