Movin ccchanging round the country is phoenix next?

Looks like in the past month there are quite a few Movin stations changing format. I wonder how much longer we have our movin for?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't our local Movin' station been "Movin" away from the cookie-cutter format for awhile now? Seems to me that every time I tune in nowadays I hear more current music, and not so much recycled 80's and 90's vanilla rhythmic gold. And hasn't their positioning statement changed?

Either way, I count it as another example of why generic, consultant-spawned formats don't work.

The positioning statement(s) changed from either "Music that makes you move" and/or "Music that makes you feel good" (can't recall for sure) to "Music from today and back in the day" a while back. In the last few days, it seems that they have re-introduced certain songs that were in relatively heavy rotation a couple of years back.

I'm not a fan of the syndicated shows on the station (first Seacrest, and now Billy Bush), but it's understandable if they are trying to cut costs (just as seemingly everyone is trying to do nowadays.) At least there are still some local (and I assume live) dayparts.

I've always preferred the variety on KMVA to KQMV (Movin' 92.5) in Seattle, which (last time I tuned in) was still very focused on hip-hop and R&B from today and the last 15 years or so. KQMV is one of the very few Movin' stations that continues to perform fairly well, but only one other outlet (Rhythmic CHR KUBE) in that market really emphasizes the same genre of music (albeit without most of the gold). It's a very different story here, with KZON, KKFR, KZZP, and now KNRJ all going for a piece of that pie. Plus, over the years, that music has been very well-represented in our market on a variety of stations...in Seattle, until KQMV came along, KUBE was the only real player to do so, for a very long time.

They still sound cookie cutter...just a different shape. The syndications are a joke. You can totally hear the "fake" Seacrest pre-recorded "The new Movin 975.....chop.....and here on the phones...." (over the same generic bed everytime) never references a song, just bad. Why would they take the time to produce a 4 hour broadcast as opposed to bringing in one of the many LOCAL fits for the station? (who need jobs), Seems like piling all those duties on producer guy is more work (especially 2 shows worth a day). Let's not bring up the music...just look at the goofy playlist

I remember telling people this was going to happen a few months ago...
Well all I have to say is if they are going to change, PLEASE let it be for the better! If not, then just let it be - better what it is now than anything extra we don't need or something worse.

Club 95 Latino Vibe... I hope they leave them alone, too. Maybe I already have a favorite (or two top choices when it comes to a) place to get my jamz, but I also like when we have a good selection outside of that to choose from from time to time, and maybe you just looked over and missed something here - notice I said GOOD selection. This is why I say if there's change, hopefully it's for the better.
