Movin' is a fad format. When the fast money goes away, the next fad format will appear.

Yeah, what he said. Anyone remember Jammin' Oldies? At least it spent a little time in the Top 5 before it died its quick death.

1) Dallas and Los Angeles have nothing to do with each other. Dallas is consulted by Alan Burns. Los Angeles by Guy Zapoleon.

2) The sample hour was from Rick Dees national top 40 countdown that runs every Sunday.

The poster should've waited before he overreacted and posted.

KOAI was a loser with respect to demos advertisers wanted. KMVK is doing better...but not by much.

Although I really like KTCK, I think sports on 107.5 would be interesting. CBS has successful sports stations in other markets...WFAN NY, WIP Philly, etc. Unlike the ABC/ESPN approach, they are local. They just recently moved their WXYT Detroit to FM (replacing the local "Free FM" clone). I bet if CBS put a serious contender on 107.5 -- local talent, Cedar Hill FM, move the Rangers from KRLD, etc. -- it would be successful.

Considering how bad the Rangers have been the past few seasons, I'm not so sure moving them to the FM side is a good idea. Plus there is the fact that the Rangers Radio Network is operated by TSN. IMHO baseball works better on AM anyway.

There just is not the local talent out there to compete with The Ticket. The only thing that MAY help is to get the Mavericks or Cowboys off the other sports stations. I just think that this market can't work with 3.5 sports stations..

WTF? Why would a Jammin Oldies station carry the Weekly Top 40? I get the Rick Dees connection but that would be like KSCS carrying the Smooth Jazz top 20 countdown. Makes no sense to me.

You make no sense.

Movin is Rhythmic AC not Jammin Oldies.

Jeff, The Oasis is gone....get over it!!!

I would check prior to making such a bold statement.

1. KMVN in LA is Jammin Oldies "The 70's & 80's mix that makes you move"
2. I did not reference the Oasis anywhere in this post!

Countdown likely part of Rick's deal with Emmis. They've run it since he started. Probably contractual.

Napoleon XIV - They're Coming To Take Me Away is a great song but is definitely not a Jammin' Oldie.
