Movin' Imaging Yikes....

Certainly they must see the joke here.....

"Movin' 93-9"...<Insert Rick Dee's with the following"

"the 70's 80's mix that gives you gas...."

Listening to that liner gave me gas...please pass me the Roliads.

BTW: Before someone wants to point out the obvious let me say....I know they meant gasoline!

What's the problem with it, the station is giving away gas.

No hokier than other station promotions and contests I've heard in the past. If Howard Stern were doing it he would add sound effects. Anyway it beats dropping turkeys out of an airplane for Thanksgiving. ;D

I don't see why everyone is so down on MOVIN? It's a pretty decent sounding station and adds to the variety on the dial in L.A.

I don't know if you down there in SoCal have seen the TV ads we here in the Seatte area have seen for "Movin'" (with various butts wiggling around to C & C Music Factory. etc.) Bad enough we've seen it flanked between a laxative commerical and another for Activia yogurt. Adding "gas" to it is actually the very LAST thing we want to think about (especially during the dinner hours, when these TV spots usually run...)

"Movin'" is kind of a joke up here because of the bodily functions associated thereof with the butts. Adding "gas" is not helping..

'Scuse me....gotta go.....

When I was there last month, I found the music variety to be very refreshing and fun ... but Rick Dees is a ghost. It's like I'm listinening to Rick doing his job on autopilot ... and I'd hear him what? 3 times an hour?

Personally I think his side-kick who does the news (Mark Wong?) could probably take over the morning show and make it just as fun. Then take Dees' salary and spread it out over all dayparts to really build the station up. I do think there's a need for the music format (almost a sort of Jammin' Oldies). It just needs to be tuned.

But as much as I'm a Dees fan, I really don't think he's trying anymore. Even at KIIS he seemed distant - he'd voicetrack his first hour, etc. I think it's time for him to either try to be creative and talk ... or retire and focus on his countdown (which is still very good).

Oh yeah, because L.A. was hurting for a station that plays "Brick House" and "Forget Me Nots." Every song on this station is burnt to a crisp.

Actually its the same thing, same boring oldies with an occasional song from this century . Even the same music director from Mega 100.

Reading these boards from other areas of the country regarding Movin',here in San Francisco on our Movin' they tend to play more currents than oldies....The currents they play are a select few and they run them into the ground (even after most CHR's in the Country dumped them off their playlists months ago) , not to mention 90% of their currents are "chick hits"....Same thing with their oldies, "We Are Family" seems to have reincarnated into a heavy rotated song on Movin', That song has been beat to death in the last 10 years on various oldies,MIX's,Jack's,Jammin's,and any other cookie cutter type format that these radio consulting firms have drummed up...

Exactly... and being stuck on an 0.8 12+ just doesn't even partially justify this station's existance on the airwaves. Someone BLOW IT UP already!
