And usually by now, Kplex would come in here and state "This is just EEOC BS, they have someone in mind already".

Guess I beat him to the punch this time, eh? ;D

I hear Rick Vanderslice, Trevor Lay, Tempie Lindsay and Tim Garrison are available...

Oh wait, $15 an hour would probably mess up their unemployment benefits.

Nah, I would doubt the statement about "invisible masses lining up"...ABS and Connecticut School of Broadcasting have probably lined up field trips to Fitzhugh already. Just waiting for parental permission forms to come back, and to collect enough tuition money to buy gas for the bus.

...and trite pieces of Big D witticisms is why YOU are Mike Shannon and I am not. Lovely. ;D

Beg pardon.....but, CBS pays part timers $6 an hour........

You're kidding, right? That's how much I was making, in 1990!

CBS pays part-timers a minimum of $7.50. That is the promotions assistant pay.
Programming part-timers get $10.

So pay hasn't changed since 2000. No pay increases in 7 years?

$5 per hour ;D

Is there such thing as a good, middle-class wage in radio? I'm not in the business, but it seems like the only time I hear about pay scales, it's either an abysmally small amount or an astronomical one.

(I'm hopeful that all the radio-employed posters on this board are either in the latter category, or soon will be.)

I made $10 an hour doing promotions at Infinity 4+ years ago.

These days, you'd better have a spouse making good money, or be single with no kids or alimony. I get 33 hours a week (still considered fulltime) but still struggle. I think that's the rule for most folks that don't have old contracts like Kidd, Hal, Terry and such.

I work part-time in CBS programming and they pay *much* more than $10 an hour. I won't state the exact amount because that would be improper, but I will ask you to please stop spreading false information at the expense (as is usual here) of CBS.

Speaking of promotions. I had to run an errand at my local alberton's in Arlington. KLUV as there with John Summers, and the promotions guy was huge and looked like "Penn"of "Penn & Teller" complete with a long pony tail. The store was crowded with customers, and I wore another station's tshirt;). Flip to the next day. I am in adifferent part of Arlington, and I stopped by the store,Minyards on Green Oaks. KVIL was doing a remote.
HARDLY ANYONE was there.. Things I noticed wrong:1)The van is in a perrywinkle color Call letters, freq were hard to read and if you were driving by you would thought it was an odd color suv stuck in the mud.
2)No banners or signs anywhere!( KLUV had theirs) The promo table was outside one entrance of Minyards, not inside like KLUV had at Albertson's,and the entrance was not the MAIN ONE! The result:No TRAFFIC .The promo staff was busy "playing amongst themselves" and not out talking to folks. I(by chance ) was wearing my network tshirt, and they just stopped and stared and with a collective" who's that'? Iwondered as I left, how they handled the heavy t-storm that came through 30 min. later? What a tale of two different stations BUT THE SAME COMPANY!

Hmmmmm, could it be they like the direction of KLUV's numbers, and don't want to risk dillution by heavily promoting KVIL?

Nahhhhh... Couldn't be that. :)

NO...only 103.7 in dark blue against a "perrywinkle( a shade of blue) field . "IF" there were call letters they certainly were not noticiable. It was hard to see the freq. as it was Remember the 103.7 of today doesnot want to embrace its heritage but rather flee from it. The call letters are only used for the top of the hour id.

Maybe you should have your eyes checked. I personally don't have any problem seeing it. You're nitpicking. Not unusual for you, since bitching about CBS is always on your agenda.
