MOVIN... MUSIC???

I know Michael Martin has on occasion read and even posted to this board, so I guess this is aimed at him,

but if anybody else has any insight... please share.

1st off... Music Selection / Imaging / Promos on Movin sound 200 times better since MM took over!

Maybe I'm a freak weirdo, but it's totally noticable to me...

It sounds like they time compress all the music on the station... it sounds AWFUL! It's not pitched up, which I wouldn't mind very much... it's TIME STRETCHED... digitally... and it sounds stuttery and akward. Is there a reason behind that?

I noticed some changes too.

I think Movin sounded better with Brad & Taisa. I wish Movin will play more old school hip-hop and R&B like Movin 92.5 in Seattle.

Movin 99.7 is still my favorite station! I have been listening since September 2006!

After seeing how the Movin' stations in Dallas and, as of today,
Jacksonville have dropped the format for "Spanish Hot AC" and
"Classic Country," respectively, me wonders what the future holds
for KMVQ 99.7 in SFO...
:-\

The format has outlasted my two-year prediction...

The station is evolving into a CHR/Pop station, and is already taking shots at crosstown Wild 94.9 or KMEL (by insinuating the other stations play Hardcore Hip Hop while they play Chris Brown and Ne-Yo).

When the Dog House left Wild, I stopped listening, so hearing St. John doing the VOs was nostalgic.

I also noticed some of the choices of music that have never been on Movin' until a few weeks ago. They have played more rap and r&b from the 90s, i.e. Bone Thugs - Crossroads, 112 - Only You and Dr. Dre & Snoop - Ain't Nutin' But a G-Thang.

I noticed that too. I like it better!

Mediabase moved Movin 99.7 to the Top 40 panel, and AllAccess is now speculating about whether the station will officially embrace CHR/Pop instead of Rhythmic AC. Stay tuned.

This was bound to happen anyway, given its shift away from Rhythmic AC within the past 6 months. KMVQ was added to the BDS Top 40/CHR panel in November 2008.
