Movin needs to move on

I really think the Movin format needs to move off of 97.5 so we can have FM Talk back in az.

How about

The Zone 97-5
97-5 X

I would keep Adam and Tom on. Possibly add O&A, Don and Mike, and maybe for some spice Wendy Williams.

I realize the ratings werent there with Free FM but its amazing how many folks are disappointed its gone (not on this board) and most people liked it cause it was something other than the same songs over and over again.

FM-talk doesn't work, it doesn't get ratings and it doesn't draw revenue, period. If no-one listens and they don't make money then the station isn't going to exist for long. I know you loved FREE-FM, but it was managed terribly from teh onset with mostly LA-centric programming and a terrible approach. I'm not saying FM talk couldn't work in Phoenix (although it probably can't), but CBS is almost as inept as Sandusky when it comes to coming up with a winning or even decent formula.

The only thing worse than Free-FM was what they replaced it with... I would much rather have a bunch of canned programming talking about bowel movements and sizes of units over the same 30 songs on YET ANOTHER station.

Hey, that's an unfair slam at KOOL-FM. They play at least 86 songs. ;D

Did you give Radioguy2006 your log-on info?

Kidding, kidding.

Actually, were it him, it would have been worded: "Movin format might move off of 97.5..."

Movin is ok, it just needs to fine tune itself, get the rough edges polished and deepen the playlists, there are worse things that we could get stuck with......and we have been before!

If the format couldn't make money on a full power FM, it's not going to make money on 97.5

Your idea implies that CBS would allow them to use "The Zone", and that 97.5 would pony up enough cash to pay for all of those shows, if CBS would even let them.

Your argument here is the same argument I keep hearing from energy. Just because everyone you know likes a format, doesn't mean "everyone" likes it.

Free FM hasn't really...err...worked? In fact it's hard to find a Free FM station that has been on air for more than two years in the US before realizing their numbers are terrible. To young people, FM is the place where music is, not talk.

Of course it works on AM radio, those old folks love it there. Maybe when technology advances and HD radio is like FM radio is today than maybe...otherwise not now.
