From what I hear Emmis blew so much on Dees that their budget doesn't allow for the rest of the air-staff to be hired till after the 1st of the year at the earliest.

In the 9 AM hour on Thursday, Rick took a call from someone who asked if any of the d.j's from the old station might soon be on Movin. Rick said "quite possibly". The caller also then asked if his favorite d.j., Joe Servantez, would be on Movin. Rick didn't quite say yes but he sure didn't say no.

The call was a total set-up. A Dees tradition. For one, the caller claimed to be calling from Poway (in San Diego County). I recently stayed in Poway. You can't get KMVN's signal very easily there and on some days not at all. You can hardly get KMVN in the southern most parts Orange County. Second, the caller knew way too much about Joe including that he is being used on Movin's sweepers,

I'd now expect to hear Joe Servantez and some KIIS alumni in the near future.

Amazing, and I believe it. Listen, I know he's a "legend" and all but am i the only one who thinks that he's a bit of a hack who BEFORE he was past his prime had not really done anything interesting since, i dont know the 80's?. maybe Im just young and naive and not aware of the Dees magic but I just never heard it. I DID buy the 45 of "Disco duck" when I was a kid though........... :D

Maybe Movin should give some thought to calling the jocks the bowel movers.

Mornings: Rick Dees
MidDay: Bill Lee
Evening: Sue Hall
Overnight: JoJo Kincaid

Just a guess!

I would rate JoJo much higher than Sue Hall, but that staff is fantasy. I would expect a much more
hispanic leaning make-up simply because they'll probably want to mirror their audience...

Don't you mean 'the population of Los Angeles in general'?

Mornings: Ricardo Dees
Midday: Guillermo Lee
Afternoon: Sue Hall Rodriquez
Evening: el JoJo Kincaid

How's that for a hispanic leaning make up? ;D

Scratch Sue Hall from the line up as All Access reports......

TERA BONILLA joins EMMIS Rhythmic AC KMVN (MOViN 93.9)/LOS ANGELES for the 10a-3p shift. She most recently headlined her own Latin show on the MS ISABELLA in FINLAND. Prior to that, she toured as a singer with ENRIQUE IGLESIAS and was featured as the voice of BALLY's TOTAL FITNESS with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE.

BONILLA is the lead singer of RED LOQUITA and will be releasing her debut LATIN album at the end of this year. She was signed to a record deal with EMI GERMANY and toured throughout EUROPE and ASIA with the female pop group RISQUEE.

Is that for real? A Latina who has been a cruise ship entertainer in FINLAND????? She must be working damn cheap just for the chance to work in the USA, although she has worked here before, starring as the "go-go girl" in the film Psycho Beach Party and her group RISQUEE played a hotel lounge in Brentwood in 1999. For great fun check out this photo of her at work in Finland: http://www.monserratmusic.com/bilder/fotoalbum/cubaney%202/pages/1_jpg.htm

If it's just a matter of Latino names about these: Danny Martinez and Mucho Morales. Both incredible talents.

Even I would tune into KMVN if they were on.

Mucho would be a natural on this station.

Agreed.

What I meant to say was: If it's just a matter of Latino names, how about these: Danny Martinez and Mucho Morales?

BTW, Mucho does a late night shift on WKVX 960, Wooster, Ohio. I'm not sure if he's there or just working out of a studio in some other town or state, or what?

That's probably VT'd as Mucho has been based in the LA area for a few decades. He's still working for the oldies channel and is/was on live mid-day Pacific Time on what used to be Westwood 1 which was bought out by ??? can't remember the name, but Mucho's shows are satellite fed.
BTW does that station stream and what time is Mucho on there?

www.dial-global.com

All of Dial Global's formats are live. No more VTing.

Thanks for the info.... I wish there was a way to hear a stream.... I don't think they list their affiliates on the website there do they?

They don't appear to.

It is doubtful that the kinds of stations that would run a satellite format would stream it. They may not even be allowed to.

Some MOYR affiliates stream so ....??
Come to think of it, many years ago, Mucho told me to check out the stream of some oldies station in Louisiana that was a WW1 affiliate. So I heard him that way. He was doing mid-days then (maybe 1999 or 2000?)

If you find it, post it. I'll look as well.
