MOViN SUMMER BASH

So, MOViN's Summer Beach Party was this past Saturday featuring the relevant Ton Loc, Coolio & Color Me Badd. Did both of their listeners show up? ;D

Well, color me Sadd...the station did such a great job of marketing the event, that no one (me included) even knew about it. And I was just perusing the weekend guide from the Dallas News not even 2 weeks ago, and no mention of such a concert. Billboards might have helped, too. What, did they blow the entire $500 budget on the bands? Where was it held, in the field behind the former Bronco Bowl?

Now if Tony!Toni!Tone!, Kriss Kross, Tevin Campbell, PM Dawn and MC Lyte had been there, I'd almost have been sorry I missed it. :'(

So who's this station designed for...ex-100.3 Jamz listeners? Or trying to resurrect the old KNOK/KDLZ-107.5? It'd take more than liner cards and partial voicetracking to even come close to either.

I understand that it was held at the Lakewood Theater, which has a capacity of about 1600 and it was full and a few handfuls of people got turned away at the door.

It wouldn't make since for MOViN to put the show in the DMN because 90% of their audience doesn't read the paper.

All that I talked to had a good time except for the lady that got her leg stabbed by a stage diver in stilleto heals.

I don't know which is more mind boggling that 1600 people listen to MOViN or that 1600 people wanted to see Ton Loc in concert. :-*

I agree. I used to listen to 100.3 Jamz and Hot 100. But, that was relevant to the time. MOViN is just sad.
