Moving From Adobe To Pro Tools And Needing Advice

I have been producing for about 15 years, and I have only really worked with Cool Edit and Adobe Audition at the stations I have worked at.

I am about to work for a station that is switching to Pro Tools. The problem is I know nothing about it at all. I haven't even seen it more than a time or two. Does anyone know of any good tutorials online? Is the learning curve steep?

I used SAW and Triple DAT back in the day, and had no problem switching to Cool Edit/Adobe, but I'm hoping to hit the ground running.

Yeah, it's a little steep. Most DAWs have some similarities, tho. When I was up for a gig at a station that used a system I didnt know, I found someone in a nearby non-competing market who took the time to give me an overview. Maybe that would work for you?? Or else, head to the book store, or search Amazon. There has to be a "ProTools For Dummies" book out there somewhere after all this time.

As mentioned in another thread: YouTube... hundreds of user-made ProTools tutorials on there.

Not free, but www.groove3.com has superb tutorial videos. If you've used a recent version of Audition, you should have no trouble adapting.

+1 on groove3's tutorials... love their series on iZotope's Ozone mastering plugin.
