Technical rack of deblinkenlights at Wolf Creek Radio Broadcasting, Inc in Laramie, WY
KRQU, KIMX, KLMI and K244FN/KHAT all use Omnia one processors. KLMI uses PlayOutOne Pro, KHAT/KIMX/KRQU use IAutomate but they will eventually be moved to PlayOutOne Pro as well
KLMI's automation here in this rack is like the server, we have a monitor in the studio looking at the actual play out software and another monitor that has the slimmed down view for live operations.
KLMI is almost entirely voicetracked 6am to 7pm but we still spank all the other stations in time spent listening numbers that are 2 to 5x everyone else, even before we owned all the commercial stations in town.
KHAT, KRQU and KIMX will remain computers in the rack here. Syndicated morning shows are or will be on all 3 stations (KIMX Even pulled just over a 1 in the Cheyenne ratings with just a syndicated morning show. KRQU is just a jukebox now but will have at least a morning show soon.
All 3 will share a studio and console down the hall for live purposes even with the automation in the racks down the hall.
When the poo hits the fan, we'll have a button the jock in the KLMI studio can hit and go live on all 4 stations at once.
We moved KRQU into this facility from the Appaloosa Broadcasting studios a mile away last week, KIMX Was moved last night and we'll be moving KHAT today.
Theres alot of work to be done with the stations and its being down slowly, with well thought out, methodical planning by identifying what needs to be done, figuring out priorities and doing things in order.
All 4 stations are owned by a local guy who went to high school and college here, never left.. and everyone in the city either knows him or knows of him. We don't just talk the talk on community and charity involvement, we walk the walk.
Anyone who knows me will know there's a reason I've been working for him in some capacity or another for 7 1/2 years.. and it's not just a paycheck.
