Mr. Bill OUT at WRFX 99.7 The Fox

He just posted on his Facebook page:

“Just to let you know, I'm am no longer a part of the team at WRFX The Fox. Before you feel bad, let me tell you it has been the best 15 years of my working life. I've been able to see and discover wonderful things. Work for a guy I consider my brother. I have aboslutely fallen in love with this town. Most importantly, all you listeners who made me a part of your daily life made it the great run it... was. Your more then just listeners to me, I've become real friends with so many of you and I'll always remember that the most. There are some new adventures I've always wanted to pursue and now I'm free to do so. It's a good feeling in some ways, sad in others. I love the Fox and I always will. I will be in touch. And no matter, keep rocking with the Fox! That is still the best damn station in the land!”

Bill helped me get my first gig in radio at WRFX in 1998... I went on to have a pretty nice run in radio. He's a GREAT guy and an even better radio talent. He will land another great job!

15 years at one station! Well done Mr. Bill! Can't wait to hear about the next chapter in your radio career!

Something's goin' on! There was a post here suggesting a possible legal issue early last week. For some reason, it was removed from from this thread shortly after being posted.

My employer prohibits discussion of work related issues on social networking sites. And CC may still have some legal claim to Mr. Bill radio show. And he probably has at least a 6 month no compete contract that prohibits him from commenting.

Mr. Bill used to work @the legendary, heritage 102.5WDVE/Pittsburgh, & in Dallas, just to name a few.

The name sounds familiar; was he at New York's WCBS-FM during their first stint (before they got "Jack"ed in 2005)?

No, you're thinking of Broadway Bill Lee of CBS-FM.

Also known by his real name, Bill Lenke, he's worked at stations such as 96WTIC-FM/Hartford & KFRC/San Francisco.

He does PM drive now - he joined the station after they flipped from Jack.

And he's also not the weatherman and children's host from WLOS.
