Mr. Food passes away

WKRG-TV in Mobile, Alabama used to broadcast Mr. Food segments during local newscasts in the morning until a few years ago. The official World Wide Web site for Mr. Food still lists WKRG-TV among the list of stations supposedly affiliated with the segments in spite of WKRG-TV not having broadcast any of them recently.

I remember "Mr. Food" from WPRI in the 80's on the noon newscast...Walter Cryan, Barbara Hamilton, Hank Bouchard, and Mr. Food. :D

He started in Albany, but a small distributor by the name of King World took notice. KW still distributed his vignettes to news stations years after they hit it big with iconic programs such as "Oprah," "Wheel of Fortune," and "Jeopardy!"
