Mr.G

Anyone else find it odd that Mr.G has been gone for almost a month on CBSFM?

I can't help but wonder if this might be an excuse to bring over Bill Evans from PLJ.....Supposedly he's not been heard on the Todd Show for a while now, probably ever since he called into CBS and was on scott's show a few months ago.

Personally, I like Mr.G, even though I think Bill is a bit more.....together. Mr. G seems to be floating around in a cloud most of the time and just observes ;o)..

"Blevens" could slow down to half his current pace and still pack a 30 second forecast into about 20 seconds.

The morning show has turned this into a "bit" as evidenced by the Facebook page linked below from 10/23/2014:

Mr. G's name is still announced before the weather forecasts delivered by Patty Steele.
According to one poster G. is on extended vacation from the radio while he continues to appear on WPIX-TV-Channel 11.
Of course, many posters think he's gone or on some sort of medical leave - which wouldn't be possible if he continues to appear on WPIX and his name continues to be used on the air and on station-sponsored Facebook pages.

well, it was nice to have him back for a little bit...

I thought it was kind of strange that you would take a month off from radio, but not Tv. now the question is who's coming in to replace him...

I doubt Blevans can work on a CBS and ABC station.

also, saw on the CBS feed supposedly Todd and Bill where making fun of Mr.G.

sounds a little class less.

So glad I don't listen to that crap anymore.

For those of you have just heard that as of this morning, weatherman Mr. G is leaving WCBS-FM after 37 years. He first joined the station in 1977 when it was an oldies format, he has been friends with Harry Harrison for a long time along with Dan Taylor. He is continuing to do the weather on WPIX-TV (channel 11) during the 5 PM and 11 PM newscast. I have this audio came from the WCBS-FM website. Enjoy!

I used to listened to Harry Harrison for years on WCBS-FM back in the 1990's and it brings back some memories. Good luck, Mr. G, you're the best!

damn board won't let us edit posts...

but I heard the bill evans mr.g mention. thankfully it was just a light hearted jab....

as I recall...

Dave Price has been on the b ig show before...he's the only CBS weather guy I know..

is he still on the station?

so, lets assume that WABC will let bill work on a CBS station.

How soon do you think the switch over will be?

My g uess would be new year, and PLJ will have to find another weather guy.
