Are any of the people on this board affiliated with a radio station that carries MSA Sports Network events?

If so, what kind of arrangements are required for a station to carry their games. Is it on a barter basis or do you have to pay a fee? If you pick up their games, and sell spots, are you required to give MSA a percentage of the revenue?

^^^I'd rather find out from station personnel what kind of deal their respective stations have with MSA. Trying to determine if there are different tiers for different stations or whether or not they offer special deals for some stations and not others. That kind of information may not be volunteered by MSA.

The (admittedly) small knowledge I have of this "network" is that's it's not a typical "sports network", per se, but rather a clearinghouse for online streams of western PA sports -- mostly high school, but some college too.

The network gets their streams from stations that are carrying the games -- by POTS line or a dedicated stream. A lot of daytime AM stations like it because it provides fans with a way to hear the broadcasts at night. So, the "affiliates" feed their audio to the network, not vice-versa.

I may be all wrong about this.... somebody correct me if I am.

As what the barter arrangements with the stations that feed them the games are? -- I have no clue.

To my knowledge it is just the opposite, MSA does all of the legwork but you also have to clear a number of their spots during the games. The station I used to work for carried some MSA games, mostly high school football, and we did nothing as far as providing announcers or the like, we just carried the feed they gave us. If I am correct, they even pay the board op back in the studio, we were given $50 for every game we worked on top of our normal paycheck.
